I don't know the color of the Lum Chinese folder. I must have missed that meeting. ;)

I imagine when Sales is ready to make that announement, we'll find out.

The "SuperHawk" concept model is in CF. Don't know what production will be, by my personal leaning is for CF.

Nice, is that textured CF or smooth? I like... :D

1. The ZDP Delica "Sprint" is close to production.
5. The ZDP Lum Chinese folder "Sprint" is scheduled for later this year
6. The first Caly 3 is in the works (G-10, VG-10 lockback) *
8. The Ed Schempp "camp Knife" is closer. Ed selected a steel. :p *
9. The Chad Los Banos "Lava" has begun production. *
10. The "P'kal is in pilot stage *

Ok, I'm new to all this, but the addiction has already set in! :p Sal, you've got to give me more info on Ed's Camp Knife (what's the steel??). The Persian's just a work of art. And I can't wait to get my hands on my first ZDP. Any knife shows coming to the Midwest anytime soon (Hmm, Amsterdam or Indianapolis... I think I know where I'd go if I had the chance). Thx for keeping us updated.

Interesting. Since it's only a concept model at this time, specific questions are fairly pointless, as the design is likely to change, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Grippy Carbon Fiber or Smooth?
Is it planned as a Sprint or Regular Production(CF usually seems to be reserved for sprints, that's why I ask)
Any left handed versions planned?
Lock type?

Not a problem if you can't answer them yet, it is a bit early ;)

Hi Scott,

The Concept model is grippy CF. Nested compression lock like the
para is what we put on the Concept piece. Ambi clip is planned. More than likely prodcution.

Now we'll get feedback at shows before making any decisions.

As always Mr. Glesser, thanks for keeping us informed. Looks like lot's of nice blades on the horizon.

(Still patiently waiting for the redesigned Lil' Temperance 2) :D

Just kidding, I'm not selfish. There's plenty of cool Spyderco's coming out to keep me occupied before that masterpiece arrives. Heck, I still have to pick up a Kris! Between the Kris and half of this list, that'll hold me for quite a while.

I played with the CALY 3 for quite a while during the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. :D
It is everything the “Mini-Manix” was supposed to be, i.e. with a blade of less than 3 inches.
It is on top of my want list. Congratulations, Sal!

Regards, :)

Wow! I'm glad to see your post, FRIZ. I had really wanted the "Mini-Manix," but it was on the upper end of my size preference when it was the "80mm" Manix. When it turned out to be 83mm I decided not to buy one...well, not yet anyway. I'm excited to hear your comment about the CALY 3.

As to the Superhawk, I like the sounds of the design. Grippy CF and that wonderful nested compression lock. :D Since it's a Superhawk, what are the projected size dimensions?

To me, this is another of your "casual bombshells." The lack of an ambidextrious clip is the ONLY thing that has kept me from buying Mili's and Para's to this day. But now there is no longer any doubt: it is time [almost] for me to buy the prior. This is going to be a VERY expensive year for me...

I don't know if you guys are leaving it out on purpose, but what about the VOLPE?

I'd love to know a general release date from Sal.

I would think following, Spyderco already showed pictures of the Volpe.
No pics are allowed, untill the model is decided for production in less then SIX months.. I think the clock is already tickin´, they can be out at any time ;)

Way back last spring, the date for it was originally quoted as Oct/Nov. My guess is, that as sometimes happens with the first model from a new source, there have been some "bumps in the road". Perhaps QC isssues, perhaps just general supply and production delays.

I really cannot wait for SPIN. I really like the small folders. I think it makes a really useful EDC for the urban setting.

Big knife tends to scare people out there. Small knife is cool.

Haaaa, but ssoooo laaaalaaa cooooool!

Sorry but this tread made me blow a fuse. That's is unreal. Man there are some really hot items on that list.

I guess the two that currently excite me the most, are the ZDP chinese and the Ed Schempp camp blade. This will be an expensive year!
