Integral clipped Spydies wanted....

#1

Post by JTCasimir »

Just got a new NOS Endura with the integral FRN clip--made me realize how much I miss them.

Anyone out there know where I can get my hands on some more of 'em (Endura, Delica, or other mid-to large size EDC)?

Thanks in advance!

The usual suspects have them periodically, Ebay, Bladeforums trading section.

Take your pic ;) With the release of the new models, you may see a big influx of the older models, as people upgrade.

But then again, you may not, a lot of people prefer the integral clips, and may hold onto them, or compete with you for the ones up for trade/sale/auction.

Good luck.

A cheapskate buddy of mine purchased a BRK Native from a pawnshop and when I told him it wasn't a "real" Spydie he got about half irate. I had to prove it by printing off some threads from Bladeforums and bringing it to him. He wasn't pleased with the info as he thought he'd finally attained spyder status. He told me to keep my eyes open for a knockout Spyder deal and try to pass along the savings. I happened upon a factory "re-tipped" Endura with the wide FRN clip, fully serrated and bought it for a song. I turned around and sold it to him for the same amount. He loves it. He uses it had every day and it serves him well.

He probably won't ever buy another Spydie in his lifetime. This one's gotta last a while. ;)

4077th,

So, what makes his Native something other than a "real" spydie?

Wait, what's BRK?

See the link the following poster gave, it explains it way better that I tried to.

Hamonoichiba.com has some older FRN models with integral clip (Delica, Endura, even a "K")

Are you looking for new or used integral clip knives?

Yes!

Actually, either very good condition used or new would work for me...

eBay is the most productive place to look. Integral clip Delicas, Enduras, and Rescues turn up pretty regularly in everything from "new old stock" to "rode hard and put away wet" condition. "Airport confiscation" multi-knife lot sales are worth scrutinizing if you're looking for users rather than pristine collectables.
