I love my SS Calypso, I paid an extra $40 not to do that, what's it worth to you?

Actually I just checked the link and it appears to be the Micarta model. There are a lot ot people out there who were most disappointed when this version was discontinued and might be prepared to put up with the advertising just to get another one of these while they can. Pity they're only serrated.

I just checked the SFO website and they only show the full size Calypso as being discontinued. What they don't show is the Calyso Jr. Micarta version on either the Current listing, or, the Discontinued listing.
Has another great model really been cut ?

Hi Tom. Yes, sad, but true. The Calypso and the Calypso jr in micarta were "retired" this year. Both are beautiful pieces.

We still have the Calypso jr in FRN with VG10 blade (flat ground to the spine). It is a highly refined folding cutting tool.

We also still have the stainless version, AUS8 blade. (hollow ground).

Then I'm glad to have them. I have the Calypso in Plain Edge, Calypso Jr Micarta in Spyder Edge, and the Calypso Jr II in Plain Edge.
Great Family. I carry the Calypso Jr II everday now.
