This is what I have found:
1) a knife that I 'baby' and take great care of will either get lost, chipped, loose, bent, discoloured, broken or useless;
2) a knife I use and forget about looks and feels better, stronger, longer-lasting, solid, tight and, well, useful.
Manifesto: use all your knives, scratch all your knives, throw them in your pockets with keys and change and other junk. G10, Stainless, Micarta, Zytel, Pearl, Wood, Bone, Plastic, Titanium, BubbleGum... it doesn't matter. $10, $50, $250, $500, it doesn't matter. The less you worry, the more you use, the less 'bad' stuff happens. This isn't a 'Truth' but it comes darn close.
RLR - with too much time on his hands and too much too say ;)
I have made a discovery...
