The Endura and the Delica are not discontinued. There is a Generation 4 version of each now available and I think, from what I have heard, that most people are very happy with them. I know I am. The new Gen 4's seem, to me, to be a lot tougher knife with nice adjustability built in. The whole line has just been upgraded.

I think he was refering to the Endura/Delica 3, since they are the classic spyderco shape and what most people think of when the word "spyderco" is said. As for me, I'm down with the E/D gen 4 They look great and I dig that they brought the tip from the salt down to the rest of them

I think he was also firespec35. I was just saying that the new Delica/Endura are just an upgrade from the previous versions.

If you "love" the 3rd generation Endura/Delica, then give the Pacific Salt and Salt 1 a look... They have the same handle, however a little different blade shape and larger opening hole (which rocks by the way).

I will remind everyone, that the true "classic" Endura and Delica (1st Generation plastic clip) had the round "butt" of the newer models. For me, it was like an updated return to the past... :)

The Volkswagen Beetle is loved by some, but they now only make the New Beetle ( a Rabbit in a new shell) . Same with Spyderco. They can't make everything, and progress is progress.

I think the new Delica and Endura 4's are great improvements, an worthy successors to the Delica and Endura names.

I've yet to get my hands on the 4th Gens, but from what I can see, they look like an improvement. I think the old silhouette is better, but 4-way clip carry (and losing that darn barrel bolt clip) and screw construction beats looks for me. I would have liked the new improvements but on the 3rd Gen, but once I get my hands on the 4th I'll be able to make a real judgement.
