Just wanted to say hi....

Post by GreatWhiteShark »

Hey there,
Thought id introduce myself. Been a fan of the blade all my life, always had a knife on me, even as a kid. Ive had quite a few different makes of knives over the years, but recently rediscovered my affliction for the spyders.

Quite a few of my friends have learned the usefullness of having a knife always on you. Me always having to lend them a knife, they finally caught on that they should get their own. Glad that i found a forum online for knives, specifically spyerdco's.

Quick question, the reason i found this forum was that i was cleaning out some stuff and found an older model Delica, that i had many years ago. The spine is broken, think if i send it back to Spyderco, they could repair/replace it?? Im not sure how it was broken, but i do love it. Simple and functional, alot lighter than the other knives ive carried around, and its the best looking! Just wanted to say hi. Thanks guys

Aloha and welcome GreatWhiteShark!

The only thing you can do regarding that broken Delica is send it in to have it looked at. If it was not broken due to abuse, I am sure you can work out something with :spyder: .

God bless and enjoy your stay.

Hello GWS,
Like the others said, check with W&R. Welcome to the forum.
First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Welcome to the forum GreaWhiteShark, shoot Amanda a call in Warranty and Repairs, she should be able to let you know if it's fixable. But I gotta tell you, a broken spine sounds pretty rough to fix.

On the upside, if they can't fix it, there's always the new generation Delica, which is much improved from the old model. You may want to take a look at.

Let us know how the repairs go if Spyderco says that can fix it.

Welcome to the forum! As to your Delica, everyone is right. The only way we can say for sure what we can or cannot do is to physically see the knife. Please send it in to W&R and Amanda will follow-up with you. Just be sure to include all of your contact information.

Hi GreatWhiteShark, and welcome ! I cannot but agree : replace your knife with the new Delica 4. It is a great improvement on the old ones.
