2006 Closeouts

#1

Post by TazKristi »

First, our apologies. :o

We had an enthusiastic employee who made changes to our site in respect to discontinued product a little early. Many of the items listed in the "Specials" section of the site this weekend should not have been listed until January.

We will, of course, honor all sales placed over the weekend at the prices shown on our site. However, all listings have been corrected.

As I have mentioned previously, we notify our Dealers and Distributors of discontinued product prior to releasing it here to be fair. We have begun to send that information out, but please give your dealers a few days to receive it an process it. :)

The list of discontinued product for 2006 is as follows. This is the complete list.

C63GPS - Chinook II ComboEdge
C73GPS - Impala ComboEdge
C75P - Kiwi Jigged Bone
C79PSBK2 - Assist II
C80GPBL - Dodo PlainEdge Blue
C80GSBL - Dodo SpyderEdge Blue
C80GPBK - Dodo PlainEdge Black
C80GSBK - Dodo SpyderEdge Black
C83BMP - Persian Black Micarta PlainEdge
C84P - Karambit SS PlainEdge
C96GP - Spyker PlainEdge
FB05P - Temperance PlainEdge
FB05S - Temperance SpyderEdge
FB05TR - Temperance Trainer
FL01FG - Photon Light Forest Green
FL01JFGP - Photon Light Jester Combo PlainEdge
FL01JFGS - Photon Light Jester Combo SpyderEdge
FL01LFGP - Photon Light Ladybug Combo PlainEdge
FL01LFGS - Photon Light Ladybug Combo SpyderEdge
JFGP - Jester Forest Green PlainEdge
JFGS - Jester Forest Green SpyderEdge
LFGP - Ladybug Forest Green PlainEdge
LFGS - Ladybug Forest Green SpyderEdge

Again, our apologies for the mix-up. Keep your eyes out for the 2006 Catalog posting. I will also soon announce how you can request a catalog.

Kristi

Thanks, Kristi! I almost bought another Dodo from :spyder: over the weekend, glad I didn't as it was a mistake. I guess it's a good thing I ordered a Persian yesterday!

I am surprised there aren't more to be discontinued. I would have thought the Scorpius wouldn't make it for instance. The Persian is the only real surprise.

Whew, that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

The Persian is some sad news. It's such a superb knife.

I am also sad to see the Persian go. The Dodo and the Karambit also saddens me. I am not surprised the Karambit wasn't a big seller, but it is a nice "special purpose" knife.

OMG -- I don't own a Spyderco that hasn't been cancelled!

Meerkats (4)
Chinook II CE (1)
Dodo (2)
Temperance SE (1)
Temperance Trainer (1)
Perrin Bowie FB (1)
Maddox (1)
ZDP-198 Caly Jr. (1) not exactly discontinued, but no longer in production
KX06 wood handled kitchen knives (2)

I am the kiss of death for Spyderco lines! :(

Oh wait, I own a Yojimbo ... IT'S DOOMED!!

Expect the Pickle Knife to be cancelled almost immediately, 'cause I've been waiting over a year for it.

Too bad they didn't do a short run of serrated Persians prior to giving it the axe. :(
