Very cool! :cheap-sunglasses

Glad to see you got in on the action while the opportunity was there. Probably one of very few people in the public with the Para 3 variants already. ;)

Seems odd that the stop pin isn't black on the DLC model, but also the satin one has black hardware and tube.

Is it confirmed they have "Salt level" internals?

That would be pretty cool, I would just figured they might have been labeled “salt”. Either way it’s a change from the bright yellow for those who don’t like it.

Someone somewhere (can't remember if it was here or in a FB group) asked what the deal was with the black hardware on the satin blade model, I would bet it's because it's still considered a Salt model. The official Para 2 Salt with satin blade also uses black hardware.

Hmm, I've never noticed that myself on the PM2 Salt. Likely because...I'm going to catch some flack, I don't care for salt model knives :zipper I've just always hated mismatched hardware/clips on knives. Looks sloppy and half assed to me.

The paperwork doesn’t use the language “salt” but states the liners are stainless. No mention of the hardware but I assume SS as well.

Isn't that true for all compression locks though? Or do they not mention it in the flyer in case of non-salt models? I don't want to disprove this but to confirm it either way. I do notice the hardware colors are aligned with salt versions (all black apart from the stop pin) as opposed to all black of the usual S30V+DLC setups

I don't know if it has been officially confirmed anywhere but Spyderco doesn't use their Salt steels on non-salt models. To me it only makes sense that this would be a Salt model too.

I'm not entirely sure but I think the decision to include or omit the word "Salt" was left up to BHQ.

If the liners are black plus obviously the hardware, and it’s carrying a MagnaCut blade, it’s simply the bumblebee Para 3 dressed up in a different (in my eyes unattractive) set of scales. I highly doubt Spyderco would be coating the liners with anything other than what they use on the Golden Salt G10 models. It may not be labeled a “Salt” but it is one.

I'm pretty sure I saw earlier this morning that the liners are not coated, so maybe I'm way off on the hardware being Salt related. Maybe BHQ just thinks it looks cool 🤷🏻‍♂️

You’re totally right David, the liners aren’t coated! Why on earth the satin ones have black screws is beyond me. Great, now if I want one, I need new scales and new screws!
