Well it has been about 15 months since I bought my first Spyderco and over a year since I bought a knife. On a recent job when I was out of town I ‘lost’ my buck 110 that I have had for about 16 years. I left it in the hotel room on checkout and as soon as I got home and realized I left it I called the hotel to inquire about lost and found, no knife. Called at different times for 3 days…same story.
So naturally after getting over the loss I had been looking for a new longer bladed folder to replace it. I happened to come across the Cutlery Shoppe Orange G10 black DLC XHP exclusive. Looked into the steel and found it shares a lot of properties with D2 and Cruwear family steels.. Two steel that I find phenomenal. Anyway, long story short, it should be here in a couple days and will be the third spydie in my small burgeoning collection.
Very nice! I love that orange with the black blade and hardware.

As far as I recall your first Spydie was a Delica which you described as pretty perfect for you (I actually fully agree - in its particular size range it does not get any better than Delica 4/Salt 2) - and your second one being a Mule?
I figure the Millie will be a great addition to your Delica, just by being pretty different starting by size and blade length! Plus different lock, different handle material, different factory, ... hope you´ll share how you like it! (I myself have only experience with the Millie "1")
I really like XHP in my Chaps and also orange handle (even cooler with that black blade!)
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

I was trying for the Magnamax mule and wasn’t lucky. My second knife was another Delica the knifejoy ‘Damascus’ vg10. The VG10 has become my beater because I am so impressed with the PD1 I want to try to make it last forever.
It will be cool to have a Golden Spyderco and I will be sure to report back.
That's a shame, the satin orange Military is an iconic model. I've now made two different variants of a satin version, one with a PS S30V blade and more recently a Magnacut blade. I prefer the MC version, and the PS S30V blade actually looks pretty cool in the bumblebee Caribbean-style scales (the ribs on the scales and the serrations seems to jive well together). These first two pics also include a "CQI'd" orange Military 1 that I updated a few months ago with PM2 hardware (stop pin and body screws) – not a mod for the faint of heart since I had to also modify the liners and G10 scales to accept the larger T8 screw heads and the slightly wider PM2 stop pin. Cheers, Radioactive

I find if you actually carry these CS exclusives often, or work in a sweaty/dirty environment, they very easily get stained, or at least shows dirt easily on such a vibrant color. I worked in a warehouse environment and carried the G10 Para 3 version years ago and the scales would look dirty after 1 day in pocket. Always something to consider with these ones.

Fine Scotch-Bright and alcohol takes any dirt off and leaves it like new.

This looks so good. Who do we lobby to have an uncoated version made?
I’ve had the knife for a few days. I love it it. Great styling and ergonomics as well as a good color scheme. The steel is performing very well. My only complaint is that it is a BIG knife. I don’t think it will become edc, but it will be great for camping and outdoors use. I really like the compression lock, it’s very solid. Delica still wins for edc, but if I’m out in the forest I will have the M2 and that orange should be easy to find.
One thing that doesn’t get mentioned too often with the Military’s is just how light they are for their size. Sure, they’re long in the pocket but not very heavy considering. Great knife there!
