Good luck to Mike with his pharmaceuticals and wrapping up the knife store.

Received word from Zen (thanks!) that NGK’s CC 087 subscription that I used for over a decade has been picked up by someone. If anyone sees new 087s in the wild, please let me know. Thank you, Radioactive

Figured they would have allowed you to take over the subscription?

I certainly could have asked to move the CC subscription to another vendor. Indeed a few reached out to me actually about doing so, as did Spyderco themselves to help me find one, but I would have to purchase every single new model and variant. The glorious feature of my relationship with NGK is that they moved knives I didn’t claim into their general inventory, so anyone who purchased that particular knife might receive a 087 version (and many of you did!). I bought close to 50% of everything released over the last decade, focusing heavily on the higher-end models, so I probably purchased close to 60-65% of NGK’s annual inventory by the financials. None of the vendors I’ve spoken with since NGK announced they’re closing is willing to do that for me.

I should note that NGK already carried CC 087 well before I was bitten by the bug, it just became apparent that I was constantly buying so many of them from Mike, Annie and Steve that I asked to have first dibs, which they kindly agreed. I believe 087 is technically Steve’s (former) number. I don’t fault any other vendor for not offering to do the same for me.

I had to go check my only CC knife, the original grey G10 Cruwear Military to see if I had a 087V. Mine is 130V. RS guessing you kept that one?

I checked my records and found a CC #87 that I bought from NGK. I've since sold it when I thinned out some of my collection.

MANIX 2 80 MM #087V #C101CFPCW2 PLAIN EDGE CARBON FIBER CRUWEAR

All the best to NGK, things change, especially whe age creeps up on you.

New Graham Knives (NGK) in Bluefield, Virginia, is not permanently closing; rather,
it underwent a temporary closure and announced a grand reopening on November 13, 2025, to begin the holiday shopping season. The store, known for its selection of brands like Benchmade and Spyderco, resumed operations with new hours (10:00am-2:00pm, Mon-Sat).

Reopening Details: The store reopened on Nov. 13, 2025, with special discounts, including 10% off for credit card purchases and an additional 10% off for cash payments.
Operational Status: As of late 2025 and early 2026, they have been operating with reduced hours, running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
Reputation: Despite some confusion regarding the temporary closure, the store maintains a positive reputation for its service.

It appears the business was restructured or took a break rather than closing permanently, with the WVVA report confirming the reopening in late 2025

That’s interesting given I asked them for a list of any remaining 087s and that wasn’t included (or else I would have grabbed it). Who knows... Glad it found a good home! Cheers, Radioactive
