Spyderco Charisma Release Date! Countdown...

#1

Post by BeTheExample731 »

Hello all! I'm not sure if anyone will have a Spyderco Charisma release date forum like we had with the CPM-15V models but I'm hoping this will be the start where those informed can update us with this exciting introduction! It's been a long time coming! :star-struck

Hi BeTheExample,

Great name by the way. We have a challenge coin that says, "Want a better world, be a better person". so I thik we're on the same page.

We'll announce it when we know it will be delivered.

And yes, it has been a long time coming. Eric began this project many years ago, and you'd be surprised to know how many prototypes he had to toss before he was satisfied. (He's a bit OCD like his dad).

I too am excited for the charisma. One of the few Spyderco's to catch my eye the past couple years, not that they aren't all great, just right up my alley in a unique way.

I'm on the fence about the Charisma. I really like that there's a $100 knife coming out of Golden. I'm hesitant to use the term "budget" at $100, but it's definitely economical-for-USA-in-2026.

I like the idea of it being very thin blade stock, but am not especially excited about the shape of the blade. I can't really tell if the handle is going to feel good in the hand or not. Small, thin, straight knives like this always look cool (like the Burnley Kwaiken) but never seem to be great users (like the Burnley Kwaiken).

At the last Amsterdam Meet, the Charisma was my favorite design.

I loved the Mantra 4 too. Since the Domino (&Dice) and Sliverax are the only flippers I love, seeing a new flipper from Eric was very exciting. I hope it'll get the S35VN/M4 treatment.

For those wondering : I did not know it'd be call the Mantra 4, and it surprised me a lot since it is (IMHO) very different from the previous Mantras. The flipper action is incredible for such a low profile flipper by the way. Edge to handle raito is cool, it is contoured... so much good things in such a tiny format.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Robin. Finally made an IG : ramo_knives

Yeah, I have one on preorder. I'm looking forward to it. Spyderco hasn't really nailed the flipper category IMO, good to hear this one seem slike a winner.

It's difficult to really appreciate just how thin this knife is until it's in hand. Not just the blade but the handle too. I still see it as a must have but my first impression was genuine surprise at the overall slimness.

I was just thinking about that today. The blade stock is almost half that of the Ladybug. That's crazy

I held this at Blade Show last year. It definitely feels nice and it is ultra light. Looking forward to its delivery.

Here's Eric talking about the Charisma at Shot Show:

He mentions they originally designed it with a 0.05" (1.2mm) blade and couldn't make it work. So they bumped it up to 0.065" (1.7mm). This is not yet reflected on Spyderco's website, it still says 0.05". Strangely, BladeHQ lists it as 0.10".

0.065" is still pretty thin. I'm sure someone out there will be offering regrinds :rofl
