Think you're gonna get both or just one or the other?

I'm definitely getting the no choil run. If they're not too pricey I'll likely end up with both.

I'm excited to have more options in the mega folder category without paying the steep asking prices tatankas command these days.

here's a comparison between the no choil version and the Police 4 from bladeforums. Haven't seen anything on the 5" police with a choil:

Was not aware of the rules on this thread being for new models only, sorry I tacked up anything on here and for the future heck I will not even open it so there is no temptation here on me Lionesser...

Edit:

For guys like me that seem to have a hard time knowing where I can post and well, let's just call them special threads, how about you guys tack them at the top and make a sticky out of them? Least do something, since in the last 10 days I have got myself in this predicament.

It's that or I guess I need to just keep my thoughts to myself completely and just keep my posts on my picture thread.

As I type this the worse this is starting to taste in my mind actually. I never really have that much to add to what all you guys already do anyway. So sorry to interfere with things on here. Heck there is even another thread labeled almost like this one, so I am bound to screw this whole place up...

Hopefully if I just read through all these different threads and picture forms on this website, I won't interfere with anything you guys have going on that I was not aware of.

Don't worry about it, you're not alone, this whole "Delivered and upcoming" category is turning into a mess...

There's an active 2025 delivered and upcoming thread, a delivered and upcoming discussion thread, and now there's a 2026 delivered and upcoming thread. It's difficult to follow.

There are no rules limiting discussion in this thread. It's more of a courtesy that some people appreciate.

jeb,

there's no rule against chatting in these threads. Sal does it, kristi does it, and she's even clarified this subject on more than one occasion.

Image

Ironically, every single person in these threads trying to make up rules for someone elses forums, is guilty of what they're asking others not to do. They're making completely off topic posts while you and I are at least discussing upcoming spyderco models.

---------------------

Back on topic....I get excited every time I see one of these threads get bumped, hoping it's finally the release of the Manix XL Salt.

I really wonder what format the 5" Police will see first. FRN/VG10 would be the most economical choice, but I suspect it'll be G10 to avoid investing in molds for what will surely be a pretty niche offering. If that is the case, I could see them going for a steel that'd bring more hype, like they did with the K390 Police 4 first run. Magnamax possibly?

I hope it's going to be popular enough to keep around and see variants. Just in case it isn't, I plan to buy 3.

Response quoted predates when a separate board was formed on 12/19/2025 specifically for discussion of upcoming models. So we should let the mods weigh in if that is how you feel.

As the forum Admin, I'll chime in. I understand, and I know this has been a topic of discussion several times. My stance, however, hasn't changed. This is a discussion forum. That includes this thread. It's fine to suggest discussion in the other thread, but no one should be made to feel that they've done anything wrong or broken the rules by posting a comment in this thread.

IMO it's in Spyderco's best interest to maintain an orderly Delivered & Upcoming thread. This thread is 90% of the reason I visit this forum. It is the main thing that drives my Spyderco purchases.

You're not a mod.

The actual mods have weighed in multiple times stating there is no rule like you are suggesting.

Give the PM's a rest and respect the rules the mods have layed out.

If anyone wants a curated list of spyderco releases:

- they announce them on their website
- knife retailers announce them on their website
- spyderco sends out email features
- knife retailers have options to notify people via email of new releases
- they list upcoming models in reveals

etc.

This is the opposite of "curated" and perfectly illustrates the value of the Delivered and Upcoming thread.

Hey all! I created the ‘Delivered and Upcoming Discussion’ thread, but it was mainly as a courtesy for the folks who might have gotten a little bothered by a lot of discussion in-between the announcements in this thread. I don’t really mind either way and I don’t think it should be a hill to die on either way. Let’s have fun and talk knives.

No harm in your idea to reduce traffic in this thread and I actually supported idea just to keep information exclusive to the title . I usually ignore posts with small talk and look for recent info that may be of interest if looking for a particular model . No biggie either way . MG2
