My heart stopped for a few seconds. What an awesome design ! Now I dream of a colab.

His latest post is crazy too, he makes jewelry now... So much milling !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I'm revising my submission.

My dream knife would be a 3.5" Native 5 Magnamax w/ slightly contoured salt scales offered in both a compression lock and a modified backlock w/ stop-pin ala Triad Lock. But really, the same thing in different sizes...Lil' Native size, Native 5 size, the 3.5" Native size, and a Bodacious size.

Sounds awesome! I'll take one of those too. The N5 is one of my favorites. With a compression lock and bigger blade it would definitely be my number one go to knife.

The smooth curve of the spine is what does it for me. I find that more often than not, my thumb wants to land right on the hump where the Spydie hole is. It is probably the worst on the Mules, but notice it on just about everything else like the Sage and Manix, etc. The handle on the PM2 is big enough that my thumb feels natural behind it; same would be true of the Millie.

I absolutely love so many models, and I'm starting to find that the 'non hump' models work the best for my hand. It is really nice that we have an entire family of knife models that carry this principle through their design.

Easy, Caly3 with magnacut. I'm using my salt ukpk and it's great, just not quite as good as the greatest knife ever made, the Caly 3.

How similar is the Caly 3 to the 3.5? Same materials, just different length? I am a fan of the 3.5. I don't love that each one I've tried has a bit of lock rock, but I can't imagine that knife would be getting used hard anyway. I just think it is something far within Spyderco's capabilities to do (zero lock rock on backlocks) or provide a little more education as to the 'why' if they intentionally haven't changed it, in light of other companies having released similar backlock designs with no blade play. Inquiring minds...

I enjoy seeing other people praising the Caly design. Personally it’s my favorite design series of all time! Underrated knives imo

Depends which version you get for materials, but they generally made both designs in all the same versions, besides the bolster/damascus caly 3.
But yes the 3.5 is a slightly extended version of the design, I personally enjoy the 3.5 a little more myself, practically the same carry footprint, but a little extra cutting edge/leverage

Ooh! That WOULD be a good one! Since the Caly 3 is quite possibly the world’s most perfect knife, having a salt version would make it even MORE perfect!👍🏻👍🏻

Planning to pick up the 5" Police?

I'd be really thrilled to see it sell well enough to make Spyderco want to push more 4-5" designs.

Thank you for chatting me up @vivi

I am game to get one!

I am going to be busy for the next week or two. I am moving (hopefully). The house closing is happening this very second. I have to be out by the 15th, and I have to locate an apartment ASAP in Kentucky where I plan to live.

Hopefully the release will not happen when I cannot put the effort in to snag one.

Now we are cooking with gas. I would like one that is compatible with all the LW blades, so i can transplant my various steels.

My dream knife is so close to already existing. The Stretch 2 being in a comparable stainless (Magnamax).

Yep!
  • Stretch 2 in Magncut, Magnamax, or SPY27. I'd prefer the lined FRN handles, perhaps in a cool color (Blaze orange?)
  • Rockjumper in MagnaMax, K390, or Magnacut. ***Need to fill void created by discontinuing of K390 Wharnie Delica***
  • PM2 Tanto (or Bob Lum tanto) -- CruCarta + DLC or G-10/Magnacut.

*Current Top 5: Stretch 2, PM2, Endura Emerson, Native V, & Delica Wharncliffe...
*Wishing for: "Salty" Stretch 2 (Magnacut or MagnaMax) & Endura Emerson (Magnacut, LC200N, or SPY27)
