I've got a Shaman LW inbound. This will be my first Shaman. I know a lot of people scoff at the BD1N blade steel, but in my experience it has been an excellent all-around steel. It's not breaking records in any one category, but it works more than adequately for daily use in 90% + of all scenarios. I'm looking forward to this one
S30V; ZDP-189; S35VN; VG-10; BD1N; H1; SuperBlue/SUS410; 8Cr13MoV; Micro-Melt PD#1; REX-45; 9Cr14MoV; Cruwear; BD1; K390; Magnacut; HAP40/SUS410; 20CV; 15V; M4; SPY27; LC200N; S90V; AUS-6

A little off the rails here but...

Well I have a PM2 in S30V coming in I mean for a measly $125.00 and S30V getting phased out why not?

I focused so much on steels with PM2 I realized I no longer had one in S30V

Gents I tell ya there will come a day when S30V is remembered fondly and missed just like it is with the Chris Reeve models.

I am really glad Spyderco never went nuts with S35VN in favor of it being easier on the machines grinding it, out of all the super steels out there S35VN was overhyped and very dissapointing.

I think Spyderco does a great job with S35VN. My #1 most carried knife, by far, is a Para 3 exclusive in DLC S35VN. The extra toughness and the easy of sharpening really make for a great EDC

I think that I am going to buy 2 more Spyderco Native Chiefs in Magnacut for my new vehicle.

I'll place one with the spare tire, one in the center console and one in the glove box. Magnacut is an excellent steel for all different kinds of weather and it carries an edge pretty well too.

After handling one, I came away liking it. Some have criticized the 'sandpapery' feel especially getting it in and out of the pocket, and while it might benefit from smoothing out where it may contact pants, I very much enjoyed the engagement and purchase of the scale texture personally, as a tradesman.

Also, while BD1N does not have the wear resistance or toughness of other steels, Spyderco did put quite a beautiful polished stonewash finish on the blade - it is very well done.

Spyderco does the nicest stonewashes for sure, Chris Reeve behind them as a second place contender.

I just ordered another Spyderco Enuff 2 Fixed Blade Knife in K390. I think that I have 3 of them now and will place them in my new vehicle rather than a folder.

I'll get the Native Chiefs in Magnacut at a later date, I still want them!

Just ordered the BHQ package deal - SpyOpera Damasteel and the Pattadese M390. The deal was just too good for me to pass on. I was trying to decide between the Stovepipe, BHQ package deal, or the Rafer Noble Chaparral. I finally got a Damasteel knife, and it’s an Italian knife. I was initially trying to just collect CPM steel knives before they disappear for good, but this deal was a great diversion.

I have a Cold Steel Recon 1 S35VN and it’s a beast of a knife. I bought it before a friend talked me into getting my first Spyderco knife. They did a great job with the well balanced steel and I have had zero regrets getting it. Best beater knife I’ve ever owned. But once I started getting Spyderco knives I never looked back. My first Spyderco was the PM2 S45VN. I really can’t tell much of a difference between the two steels.

Just minutes ago took possession of my brand new Spyderco Para 3 Blue G-10 SPY27 . :smlling-eyes
I'm very pleased and impressed !
G-10 fresh and grippy (some other guys G-10 shows the wear of the ?peal ply ?mold?)
Drop shut yet demonstrating the slightest good judgment and restraint (not guillotine drop).
Edge , as usual from Spyderco these last few year , unbelievably great for a factory edge :
Bites flat of my thumb nail with enthusiasm all along the edge .
No dings or rolls !
Test cuts on the bubble envelope effortlessly very slicy as compared side by side with a BBB 15V with a little use .

So happy to have another one of these Cobalt Blue G-10 knives ! ! !
Love this color .
