My Manix 2 Black Salt arrived today, on Manix Monday - how appropriate! I like how the regular G-10 feels, but I do like the special G-10 on the Salt model even better (and it looks good too). :cheap-sunglasses

I have the same scales on a Military 2 and I absolutely love the scales. I hope to see my Manix 2 Salt sometime this week.

Jeb you have far more Manix experience than I do, but I've held a bunch of them and I absolutely LOVE this one, everything about it...it may have already made that quintessential/all-time best Spyderco models list (except for size, right??)

RedL,

Your exactly correct jimo. These new rough texture Bumblebee scales are to die for. The size on the little Manix 2 is its only issue that I hope to see the larger Manix 2XL version of this one soon. It's tatoo'd to be a soon release.

I do hope to see my little Manix 2 hit the deck around here in the next day or so. Looking quite forward to checking out this little Manix 2 out.

I have plans to do a few things to mine, once it does hit the deck. Nothing major or anything, but to make it work for a edc knife for me, these things are going to happen lol.

I think the Manix Salt in both variations will be a milestone . The scales and steel are a game changer to models that are already legendary. My lightweight Salt is just a teaser of things to come , the wait for pair of Bumblebees will be worth it . MG2

Is the M2/M2XL Salt coming in a bumblebee format?

The Manix 2 is already available in the solid black Bumblebee, the Manix 2XL has not been released as of yet. But it is listed and being marketed online with the available soon stuck on lol.

Dan,

That a 80mm Manix backlock? If so, do they call it the mini manix or is that another knife all together?

Oh, while I have your attention, could I get you to shut the door up there? Man the nastiest northeast wind hit here yesterday and now we are left with only 40 degree high today lol...I probably did something to deserve this, but I am not a fan of these cold fronts blowing through anymore. I got to many beat up body parts that bark a lot when these things happen lol.

To be precise it is written 83mm Manix on the box ! And it's -7°C here :squinting-tongue
I got one of those Manixi not so long ago, it ended up with some olivewood scale at someone's house. @apollo kinda likes the Manix family, I think :winking-tongue
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Well, the reason I asked about the 80mm is that is what is on my box which is in perfect shape. I have no idea about these two older backlock Manix knives.

I have had this little one for a while now, just got my C95 in today and posted both of these knives to my photo thread.

They are both a killer knife and being a Manix Monday I should tack them both up here... it's not like I am limited to just one today... thanks for the info man.

What's interesting here, the smaller Manix came from the factory in the larger box above, thought that was interesting.

Yes as stated by a very good friend it is the C101 . Both of mine are first runs and do not have a bug on blade . As far as weather we had Monsoons yesterday and today was bitter cold and very windy with flurries. The Manix that is now in apollo’s collection is gorgeous! Dan

The olive wood scales are most likely quite nice, I like olive wood, it's very hard too. I'm sure Apollo loves it lol.

Nice combo!

The smaller one was informally referred to as the mini manix when it came out, because the C95 lockback version was the original Manix. If you look up discussions from when they were current people referred to the C95 simply as the Manix, and the C101 as the mini. example: viewtopic.php?p=380718#p380718

Spyderco switched things up a bit with gen 2 and referred to the original size Manix as the XL, and the mini size as the manix 2.

I like being a little cheeky when requests for a mini manix come up. The current Manix 2 is already a mini iteration of the original.
