The Pioneer has been my go-to for many years. I recently got this Swisstool Spirit MX clip. I'm impressed!

Lately, my son has been asking me for sticks more and more often on our hikes. I ordered a variation of the Explorer from a friend. I've dressed them up with some old custom titanium scales that you've probably seen before.

They are $60 everywhere else I’ve seen. Don’t know why. For me it has the best set of tools. The blade and scissors are all I need.

I don't know why but it seems to me that Victorinox blade grinds used to be a solid flat grind and now it got more hollow. To me hollow grind = flimsy.
I am a Full Flat, Apple Seed, Convex, Saber Grind guy. The only exception are shaving razors.

Fixed blade Friday : a “Victorinox 4.2243” fixed blade from 2008. It was in the Victorinox catalog at that time, and has a Victorinox model number too but was actually made by Muela of Spain.
