I don't know how you can run with it clipped to your pocket like that. I'd switch to IWB before I hit half a mile.
Either way congrats on the UM! That's awesome!

Wow you were in my backyard. The canal is an amazing place to ride a bike. You guys are true soldiers for running all that way. Congratulationsu.w. wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 2:28 pmPolice4 LW in Spy27 today (and yesterday)

Haha, nice one Jeb.
Yeah, I should post it in the "What's your dream knife" thread: a Military 2 that is tough enough to chop down trees but also sharp enough to give me a clean shave

Chancho, when you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It’s for fun.

So 3V Military knife. Razor sharp after sharpening and tough enough to chop down a tree.

Yes, that is the ticket indeed. We need to just get Sal and Eric to make us the machete and the new 5" Police4 XL from this, make it coated in the killer coating and we got it all...lol
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
First off, Thank You vivi!
It was a blast for sure! - or - Grate! (I realize that spelling looks incorrect - I do it that way as a nod to a band I'm a big fan of & listen to a lot: the Grateful Dead.) Coincidentally, the bandanna I've worn for all my ultras/runs this year is indeed a Grateful Dead dancing Terrapin bandanna. My avatar is GD Conference and Symposium.
As to the LC200N PacSalt in my RF pocket, I definitely do not notice the knife at all; and those are not long/heavy shorts either. I've given thought to IWB carry, but then I wonder if that would chafe a hole in/through my skin. A normal (multiple times a week) run for me is 3.5+ hours, and that FRN volcano grip, on skin, sweating-salting, being held somewhat tightly there by waistband elastic and/or drawstring tension. I've not run more than a few hours with my knife IWB so can't say for sure though.
With it being so light, it's not an issue at all for me though. If it were heavier then perhaps it would be, and I'd be trying IWB at that point; or finding a lighter knife.

Thank you Mrj!
Man! I LOVE your backyard! So freakin' pretty! The towpath I mean of course.
My first exposure to it was when I hiked the AT.
Not nearly enough to get really much of an idea of it though.
Then this past Saturday I got to run along side it for a while, and MAN! I REALLY like it. It is definitely now on my very short list to go pedal. The C&O, as well as the Great Allegheny Passage (which just happens to connect to it (the C&O)).
Spyderco Forum Group Pedal/Bike-Pack trip? You could safely count me in on one of those.

I ran another run last month on the New River Trail, out near Grayson Highlands. That's a super pretty area too!

I took my Emonda through the new river trail during the fall a few years back. Gorgeous ride!
