So sad that this amazing model is throwback now…
Glad I have both LC200n and s90v, but would love some MagnaCut with black/yellow G10

Can't believe the Gayle Bradley 2 folder already qualifies as a throwback.

Re: Throwback Thursday Carry
I think this should qualify as a throw back. It's certainly the older Spyderco I have, and one I must admit; I am so taken by the design of the blade shape as well as the grip.
It's just exactly what I have been wanting from Spyderco in a really nice sized big knife. Sorry guys for just going on and on about it lol... for those that don't know, it's the Schempp Rock in VG10 steel.

Re: Throwback Thursday Carry
Sadly I don't often get to post here, as I don't have a lot of discontinued Spydies, but today is different in a very good way :)
Yesterday I got my first ever Caly, of any variation, in the mail.

Plane Jane Caly 3 G-10 in very nice condition. No obvious signs of use and the price was very reasonable for this part of the world.
It seems like the domestic secondary market has improved somewhat of late. Maybe it's just a temporary abnormality, but lets hope it's a trend.

Excellent choice! The Caly 3 with G-10 was my first “nice” knife, and is quite possibly the world’s most perfect knife! I got mine right after they were discontinued and had no idea what a great knife they are! Good choice!aicolainen wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 4:51 amSadly I don't often get to post here, as I don't have a lot of discontinued Spydies, but today is different in a very good way :)

It does appear to be quite good, possibly perfect, so it's sad that they had to end production. Hopefully the stars align to bring the whole- or most of the series back again.

I believe the H1 rock salts were hollow, and the VG10's flat.
anyways, last stop before I'm out of cell range. Taking my temp 2 out for its first real camping trip. Linville Gorge.

I'll share some photos from my trip in a few days.

Re: Throwback Thursday Carry
As with any unfamiliar lock it took a while to get the hang of it but it is wonderful and the buttery smooth.
It doesn't seem that old, but 2011 was almost 15 years ago.

My first pocketknife was an Delica 1 in 1995. They seem to have multiplied since then......
Re: Throwback Thursday Carry
8th Note,
V is correct, this one being the VG10 version is the flat grind.

I agree with Aladin. Possibly the world's most perfect knife. Your knife's well-worn brother permanently rides in the glovebox of my car.
