Ok, since so many admired the PE Civilian in my collection I'll post some pix of it here.

Along with it you can see a Tuffram Civi I will soon return to the seller because of the used-up condition it is in.

I will appreciate both of them more if they were in my hands.... :p
How could you make me so envious, by posting a further 2 pictures of 2 Civie's which I do not own, and lust for ?

Ookami; Stunning pictures!! Very nice, and....... "You suck!" :D

Can anyone help me, as I wish to purchase a tuffram Civilian, and I'm unsure of how much they go for these days ???
The only one I have seen for sale, is priced at US$425 ... Is this reasonable ?
It seems alot, however if this is reasonable, I would purchase it.

some closeups to boot

Ok those birdeye shots don't do nothing for some so I will include some closeups.

Ookami

p.s.: if anybody is wondering just what the 'lo' means which is attached to each filename it is just that I had to do some scalin' again to make them fit, so 'lo' stands for low quality pic. this way I can tell them apart from the unscaled ones.

Yeah, yeah, so what, a PE Civilian what's the big deal it's not like it's a great looking knife or anything. I mean come on it's just another kni... Who am I kidding. All I want for Christmas is my 2 PE Civilians :D . Great pics, Thanks.

Very nice, Ookami! First time I've seen a G10 Civilian in PE.

Infamous, I would call $425 USD excessive for a PE Tuffram Civilian and absurd for one in SE. The SE ones routinely sell in the $125~$150 range. I would not even rate the uncoated aluminum version, which is far less common than the Tuffram, as worth $425. But that's just me, others may feel differently.

Focusing back to the topic at hand, I'm with Deacon, I've never seen a PE G-10 Civilian before, I thought they were only made in SE, as the only other PEs I've ever seen until now were the CF versions.

I took the shots on my balcony, since I do not have professional lighting equipment. The light of your average bulb is just too yellowish and doesn't have enough power to really light things up. As for dropping them; I tried successfully to avoid that. Would have been really nasty though, I live in the fourth storey of a five storey house. Would have had to ask my neighbour to drop it any higher

Aight, so Sia is short for Simona. Why didn't you say so
I can ask her if she wants to pose with in a bathing suit for you. I live in Germany so I could go to Prague by car in like 5-6 hours and make a little fotoshootin' with her. She'd be in a bathing or her birthday suit and holding the PE Civi in her right hand and a Gunting in the other.

BUT WAIT, even if she agrees, which I think is very unlikely no matter how much puppy eyes will pop up here in the forums, prices for gas have skyrocketed 'round here. For simple, unleaded low-octane fuel I pay like 1.35 Euros per litre that is like $6.23 per gallon. With my car needing around 6 to 7 litres per 100 kilometer and a route of 270.67 one way that makes 47.50 Euros or $57.88 for the whole thing: there and back again. Now think about how many Byrds I could afford for that sum and repent! ;)

That doesn't mean that I would not like to meet Simona once and talk :spyder: s. Prague is also a really nice city, I've been there once back in school. But I won't go there just for some fotos, which Simona can probably take herself, but most likely doesn't even want to see posted on the net.

Sorry to let you down pal, but that's the way it is. :D

Ookami

P.S.: I just browsed her site some and she has a nice artistic picture of her in her birthday suit. Maybe she would agree, but then again the prices for gasoline... :(

:( Ok I realize it was all in humor, but I would prefer it if we would treat all our fellow forumites in a gentlemanly manner. I'm sure that a person who travels the deserts of Africa on a whim and who carries a Gunting can take care of herself and might even be flattered, but come on can't we look at some good old knife porn (as my girlfriend calls it) without us trying to get our one and only frequent female forumite out of her pants? Of all the forums I've cruised, this one is the best. It is the best because we treat each other well, even when we disagree. I hope no one feels I'm attacking them, I respect you all in this thread, this is just my opinion.

Nice pics by the way, wish I could get my pics to look that good. :D

He started it!!!
:D

We're just fooling 'round you see and I am glad you realized. I think Simona will realize that, too. I didn't mean to disrespect Simona and I am sure Jim didn't, either.
Besides, I think we Europeans have a less rigid view towards the naked body than the USA. Now, I don't want to start anything 'bout Amerikan vs. European culture, but I doubt that I'd see naked women in commercials during daytime TV in the USA. Over here in Germany they even had an ad for buttermilk with bare skin although it is hard to establish any connection between the two - they basically said in the ad that you get the same nice body like the actress if you drink their stuff.
So I don't think she will be offended; and I would not have written anything I deemed offensive here in the forum anyway.

Hey don't get me wrong...I'd appreciate the pics as well as anybody, it is just that women who enjoy our :spyder: hobby are few and far between, and although maybe one may not mind that sort of attention it would certainly make others refrain from posting here if they see that sort of stuff. :D
