Your post encouraged me to order a NIB Sharpmaker as well, just now. (Thanks also for pointing out that Sal's instructional video was up on YT!) I hope I'll make it work, but I sure as heck won't practise on any Spyderco at first.jwesley235 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 5:50 pmIt was a pretty sweet deal. I've never owned a Sharpmaker and this one came in for under $50. It arrived yesterday and I've already used it to get very sharp edges on a couple of different knives despite neglecting to read the manual at first (in my defense, I did watch Sal's instructional video from 1999 on YouTube). It takes longer to bring back serrated K390 but I managed to get it paper-slicing sharp after a few attempts.
As for the other two, they coincidentally arrived together today. It was a good mail call:

Beautiful knives, there. I'm always somewhat bewildered by the Dodo, it looks like the mother of all box cutters, but am I missing something else?
(And I hope it's okay I'm posting these hapless comments and questions. I may have been bit hard, but I have no illusion about my lack of knowledge and wisdom, despite spending most of my free time watching Spyderco related videos. Sorry if this is completely out of place...)
