$320 was the MSRP.WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 1:20 amThat’s crazy high, but a can see the demand as the Shaman lends itself well to tougher steels.Spyderbot_matrix wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 9:40 pm$320 last time DLT had any- those went so **** fast
I don't remember exactly but they would have sold at MAP for around $225.
The Cruwear Micarta Shaman was the knife that started the "Crucarta" craze.

Correct Nick, I believe it was around $215 back in 2019.Mushroom wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 7:11 am$320 was the MSRP.WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 1:20 amThat’s crazy high, but a can see the demand as the Shaman lends itself well to tougher steels.Spyderbot_matrix wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 9:40 pm$320 last time DLT had any- those went so **** fast

I remember those few days were absolute madness when they were dropping 10-15 at a time at various dealers at various times of the time day. My parents were in the process of moving from NY to VA at the time and I was riding down with my dad to help them out. I was sitting in the passenger seat almost that entire time, refreshing a good 10 dealers page every few minutes hoping to snag one.
I don't think there will ever be a craze quite like that. That was an insanely hot knife!

Yes, that was completely nuts. I wanted one badly, tried everything, but simply couldn't find anything in stock anywhere during that whole drop. I came up empty handed again during the ZWear micarta run, despite my best efforts. Both of them dropped at odd times in my timezone. I had a snowball's chance in h3ll to snag one from this side of the planet.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 7:22 amI remember those few days were absolute madness when they were dropping 10-15 at a time at various dealers at various times of the time day. I eventually got a M4 DLC micarta a long time after the first Crucarta frenzy calmed down.
This S90V exclusive is tempting at this price...

Not to Misquote the MSRP, just only seen Crucarta Shaman very randomly on EBAY… and we all know how the demand is to this day-

I paid $208 from Knifeworks for my CruCarta Shaman in October 2019. I felt so lucky to get one. That was a lollyscramble!

Oh, there is no doubt, the Micarta/S90V Shamans at Knife Center are a great price, a fantastic price. I just find it bordering on insanity that I never wanted a Shaman, but now I'm looking at how great that price is, and having to force myself not to...

Well count me in, I ordered one.
Off subject but they did post a video how this was their second batch and a lot of them had issues. They were sent back to Spyderco and fixed and or bad ones removed. These should all be in good shape plus either this or the last second sale there should be a bunch of them.

Wouldn’t ya know it? Uneven grind at the tip and Very stiff action… Gonna be busy this weekend, but will probably reach out to spyderco before any more time passes by. Hopefully I can control my impulses to do a teardown
probably not
Still a stellar knife at this price

Mine is the same way. The bevel rides up high at the tip on on the left side. Right side is even. I'm debating whether I think it's an issue though.Spyderbot_matrix wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 1:00 pmWouldn’t ya know it? I can tune it to be smooth, but then I get blade play. Also, I can get it to feel pretty good, but then I only need to slightly torque on the handle and the action gets all stiff and out of whack.
Other than that, I love it. My first shaman. I see why they are so popular.

Stiff action can generally be fixed with a little oil and maybe backing the pivot screw off 1/16th of a turn each side.Spyderbot_matrix wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 1:00 pmWouldn’t ya know it? You’re not wrong, but I need to chained up like the wolfman to not go overboard and fix the entire knife…

I cannot return them to the mothership, so OCD DIY it is...
In my opinion this is likely caused by a burr on one of the liners (a common theme with the Shaman). I did a scale swap between M4 and 15V versions last week, and found significant burrs around the holes on one of the 15V liners. It was easy to remove with wet and dry sandpaper on a flat surface.
Both are running like clockwork now.

I was thinking of getting one but watched this video and a lot of them seem to have that high bevel at the tip. That would really bother me, but I wouldn't want to return it as it's probably within spec.

Re: KNIFECENTER EXCLUSIVE SHAMAN S90V DROP 238$
Got mine today, very nice with no lock stick and a great action once I backed the pivot off 1/32nd of a turn. Tip does sit high, but common I guess and I can always take the back down in the future if needed.
Only minor issue I had was the scales don’t really match. Show side the burlap weave is very tight giving the scales a very light look. The clip side the wear is much bigger give it a much darker look. Not enough for me to return or anything but it was a bit odd and noticeable.
Also, do these scales darken with use like micarta does? They are very flat and not glossy like some pictures show.
Otherwise great knife for the $238.
