I told Eric personally, the Ayoob's super shallow serrations are the greatest edge ever. I've EDC'd the serrated sprint since it's release.

They're shallow enough that you get zero snagging and a pretty clean cut, but they still bite like a serrated blade and separate matter with extreme ease. Probably the best overall "matter separator" blade profile imo.

Also they are easy to sharpen, almost close to PE.

I dislike the super pointy/deep ground spyderco serration pattern variant as it snags more, leaves a ragged cut, and is harder to sharpen.

So whatever the intent with the Ayoob's serrations, I 1000% approve of the outcome to the point I would like to see it become the standard serration profile.

I for one love it - the SE is excellent to me. And the “snaggle tooth” makes it that more unique. I’m a user but this should make it even more collectible (for the stays-in-drawer-out-for-internet-forums) types 😉

I cant thank JD for pushing for this sprint and Sypder Co for listening to him enough! This is one darn great knife.

There is also an exclusive request for an Ayoob and they're waiting to see what we do first. So there could be 2 Ayoob's down the road.
Hey Sal, I stumbled across this old post and was wondering if an Ayoob dealer exclusive got any traction?

That that fizzle or is it just in the queue?

Seems like the sprint sold well. A Blackout Ayoob in PD1/Cruwear with TiCN/DLC and either black G10, Black micarta, CF, or Fat carbon would be amazing!

I was in a financial tight spot at the time the last sprint dropped. I would be on board for another run if Spyderco saw it as financially viable. As for the serrations, please shallow, much like the catcherman SE.

Agreed 100%. I'd buy them preferentially if they were offered as a model variant, and I'm not generally in the business of telling others what sort of edge they should like but with these, I'd recommend them to friends who lean toward a preference for standard edges but need something with the bite and edge longevity that serration offers. There's definitely a 'best of both worlds' thing going on.

If it's really all down to a happy accident at Moki, well, sometimes great stuff takes a non-standard path to market.

Spyderco is one of a bare handful of brands I will buy these days. I'm not as interested in the brands that are run by investors and have to play everything safe and smart. It's stuff like the entire Ayoob saga here that really gets my interest.

I had a dream about it—a serrated Magnacut blade, titanium scales machined with the Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture pattern. It’s pricey, but I’d trade a few of the ‘big guns’ in my collection for it in a heartbeat.
Recent favourites: Massad Ayoob CPM CRU-WEAR PE & SE, Yojimbo 2, Lil' Temperance 3 K390.

Thank you "Spyderwebs" for posting the screw size for the pocket clip.
That question is what had me just register on this forum.

Love to see another run and would definitely be a SE model regardless of steel choice . MG2
