If any other company makes a production knife with a sharper edge than Spyderco, I would be surprised. I just tested a Smock and a Manix 15v and they were both amazingly sharp!
Re: Spyderco makes some of the sharpest factory edges.
My recent Golden and Taichung models were really sharp indeed and with mostly even agles but Seki sometimes does a horrible edge - my Stretch 2 XL PD#1 had a huge burr along most of the edge, S2XL K390 wasn't that sharp either, plus none are even angled either along the edge or side to side regardless of model
On the other hand, I've never been disappointed with Cold Steel's factory sharpness, though I don't have that much experience with their knives and there are barely any interesting (to me) designs in their portfolio right now
The rest of the market is really hit or miss with sharpness from my experience

Someone would have to buy a lot of other brands knives to have an actual opinion. Otherwise it’s just an echo chamber.
The last Spydie I bought, a Native Chief LW, was impressively sharp. Almost as sharp as a Vosteed I bought but had to return because they sent the wrong version.

Spyderco has been the most consistently sharp for sure, even if they aren't all a 10/10.

I have bought a lot of different brands and Spyderco Golden Co. and Taiwan are consistently razor sharp. 40 years ago I bought a fixed blade no-name, and everyone was amazed that it cut regular printer paper. Most production knives back then weren't very sharp it seems.

I have only a few Benchmades but the edges and grinds are very good on the ones I have, absolutely no complaints.
I'm saying that in the abstract, not in comparison to any other brand.
