An AI question: even if it is shown that humans cannot generate true self aware human level intellect in a computer, is there still a danger that a machine can be programmed to survive and that survival programming can cause it to feel it is in danger from humans, and it then turns on us?
Or is the more realistic danger that of tyrannical governments and dangerous criminals programming the AI to harm those they direct it to?

I'm certain that it's already being implemented, and has been for awhile now. If you can conceive of it now, then others have already thought of it decades ago.

ROBOTICS

The robots are not quite there yet, they cannot yet replace the warehouse work that I do. Maybe in another 2 years. Then a decision has to be made on the investment break even.

SEF, I've written about this in three of my books. I see AI has being a serious threat. In some of my other books humans passed laws limiting the abilities of AI to become alive and limited AI abilities in other ways. Then, AI became a good helper and even companion. If safeguards are not put in place, globally, and right now, we are in for great sorrow.

Humans are basically for the most part too stupid to put any sort of safeguards in place.

It's all about the money making the right people richer, anything else is irrelevant.

Be very careful with what systems you tie AI to in the corporate world. AI is not ready for prime time.

This gent learns the hard way. He ties it to danged everything. The AI was told to FREEZE all changes. The coder, who I am just guessing is the CEO here, had to get some sleep. He wakes up to their entire database missing. The AI tries to hide the fact, then admits to making modifications after the coder left the scene. You will need access to Twitter/X to read the full thread.

Not only that, but the CEO of Replit has a problem with Israel and Jews. He's a menace.

Companies are beginning to slash jobs due to uptake of AI.

Doh!

I don't think this is safe, and systems will be hacked and data will leak.

What about biological AI? How dangerous is it? Manipulating already existing cells, organs, and living components to create strange and scary mutants and devices.

They are already doing it manually. No AI involved.

Let me see if I can find a document on the subject(s). NOPE, I did not bookmark the page that I saw last week. An MD is planning to replace parts of his cells in 2025 in the USA and he claims that it should make his cells 25 to 50 years younger!!!!

But they replace bone marrow to cure cancer and AIDs. I think those are stem cells that are transferred.

Not in the USA but in other countries they replace mitochondria in humans, creating a genetically modified human.

They are trying to grow full organs, arms hands fingers feet toes and legs.

140 doctors / surgeons just placed an eye and new face on a patient.

Thank you for that. I recall an interview where a big tech leader said a major goal is to grow any organ, even full replacement bodies, for sick, injured, and dying people. He said this would be available to all but his critics said only the rich and well connected and famous will get access to that.

That is a HUGE ethics problem.

I think you have to try and live a clean healthy and active life because spare parts are not going to help you live much longer.

2025 manufactured parts for a 1969 Camaro do not give you a 2025 Camaro.
