I’m not gonna do this with the cf releases obviously, but it looks like the button compression lock mechanism within the sage 6 is essentially left handed compression locks! … will left handed vanilla compression locks or conversions be viable? I personally don’t have the right tools or steady enough with a dremel skills to do this myself though.
Am I missing something or is this basically correct? Milling the scales and liners a definitely a higher precision task than I’m personally comfortable with though.
One thing I will remark is that I think the relatively placement of the button compression lock on Eg the Vosteed raccoon is a bit more forward and thus a bit more ergonomic for a left handed person. This seems to be a secondary consequence of the different radius’s of the blade steel around the pivot.

Personally speaking, I’m left-handed and have gotten my hands on a Sage 6 and think the conversion you mention may be unnecessary.
The button on the show side scale is awesome to actuate left handed, and trying to do a button delete and just go with a compression lock would be a downgrade in my opinion, since you would be reverting to a cutout for the lockbar access at the top of the knife which fights against ergonomics. If you haven’t held one yet, I recommend you try one first. Or, if that proves difficult, go into any Lowes right now and pick up one of those ‘Craftsman folding knife’ blades for $15 since it is the same concept of a reverse compression lock with a show side actuator and see how you like the manual of arms.
The Sage 6 (and soon, many more no doubt) is a sleeper gift to lefties.

I definitely have the s30v sage 6. It’s wonderfully made for sure. Being nearly sortah ambidextrous I just always dig deep into asymmetries in hand ergonomics.

Ah, gotcha! Well then, you likely have more experience than I do. Apologies for any assumptions made!
I would say probably the biggest challenge is going to be the liners. I didn't look super close at the Sage 6, but it is going to have that hole in the liner for the button, and the type of lock that would engage at the top of the knife like a traditional comp lock is going to need a higher cutout, so you might be removing quite a bit of material (and strength) out of the knife to make an access for the lockbar. And the shape of the one for the Sage 6 may be different, given that the button is a little more recessed, not sure on that front. However, it could probably be done and would be a fascinating experiment.
