My guess is this run was 1200 yet it is still surprising that it has not sold out yet. Just another sign of economic troubles when an S90v micarta compression lock model s great as the Kapara doesn't sell out immediately!

Thank you @Danke and @attila

I had this in the cart a few times and shied away.
Not a good time for a knife to drop.
Good looking knife for sure.

I love s90v and the burlap. Also the kapara is one of my favorite models. But im not paying 275 with tax for one. I think the cf model i have has more premium handle material anyway

The M2 s90v/CF sprint was $180-220 (at MAP sale), so I am also in the camp that it's hard to justify the price despite coming in lower than I expected. KC usually puts their exclusives on sale if they sit around and during MAP sales, so I am hoping to see a $200ish if any are left around and then will bite. It doesn't seem like a big loss to miss it if it stays at this price.

I personally blame Spyderco for making so many nice knives. Just too many nice knives and too little money. I try to keep to buying 2-3 knives a year, but I want:

Sage 5 REX-121
Safe 6 S90V
Manix XL Cruwear
Bodacious SPY-27
MagnaMax Mule
Native 5 G10 15v
Karpara S90V
Manix LW 15V
BBB Collaboration 15V
etc.

Like most of us I can't buy them all, but it doesn't mean they are bad or I am out of money. I will still spend $500+ this year on knives when I already have 20+, just wish I could blow $5000, don't tell my wife.
Endura AUS-8, Manix 2 S30V, Manix 2 LW MagnaCut, BBB 15V Manix 2, BBB 15V Para 3 LW, Alcyone BD1N, PM2 Micarta Cruwear, Native 5 Maxamet (2nd), Para 3 Maxamet (2nd), Magnacut Mule, Z-Wear Mule, REC Para 3 10V Satin, Dragonfly Salt 2, GB2 M4, Pacific Salt SE H2, Dragon Fly SE H2, Endela K390 PE, Chaparral SE XHP, Shaman Micarta XHP, Bodacious SPY27, Manix 2 LW 15v, Sage 5 REX-121 LW.

Just received mine today. The knife is very nice. As I indicated on the prior page of this thread, I’ve had the original cf and the g10 versions. The burlap scales, while not rough, are matte and not polished as burlap micarta can sometimes be. I feel pretty confident that this one won’t slip out of the hand as a result.

It’s honestly the smoothest micarta scales ive yet to handle. Micarta just is such a warm material to hold. Not super ergonomic lock for left handed use though ;)

That burlap micarta looks so nice, I can't wait to see this one in peoples hands (and photos)
Hey Ali,

I carried the first article for a few days. It's really a winner. Ask Alex or Wendy to grab one for you when they get through QC. It's been in-the-works for a while, but it was worth the wait. A classic. I'm guessing Knife-Center will follow up with more variations.

I saw the production sample when we were at HQ last year. Back then, I was hoping it made it to production. Fingers crossed it goes well for them and it prompts a few more exclusives. I have seen the collection Dan OzSpyder has made up to look like all the exclusives possible from the different dealers, and some really nice ones could be done.

Alistair
Just got mine Alistair. Outstanding example - fit, finish and materials. No tear outs on the burlap, which can be tricky to work with. I can see why you are proud of this one. I am to carry it ! Thanks again for brining a great design in to the world and Spyderco/KC for making it available.

Just came here to vent some joy and excitement for how nice this sprint/exclusive turned out. It has been my office carry since it arrived and I really can't imagine it being usurped by another rig any time soon. Sure, the fruits and vegetables are being lasered on the regular, as per design, but it really is a super nice city/gentlemen's carry and it's fun to hand to people who have all been delighted so far. I also can't believe these are still available two weeks after the drop and at a price lower than the standard S30V/CF version (also great, but the S90V is superb in this format): https://www.knifecenter.com/item/SP241B ... -exclusive

The standard production is at all the usual discounters that always give an additional 20% off, so that would put it in the $213 range as the easy to get, everyday price. I'd call that significantly lower. S90v is certainly a step up and worth the difference I'd say, though the drop from CF to micarta is at least a reduction in materials cost (opinions on what's nicer can differ).

With it now at $204 there's no argument. Just grabbed one. I wish it didn't "step down" from CF with the scales, but I may buy one or each just to make the swap.

I’ve had this sitting in my cart for a couple weeks now. I’m pleasantly surprised that the price dropped. It isn’t favorable to the early buyers though…

Yea with the discount being so close to the drop Knifecenter should give rebates or gift cards to those who jumped on it immediately. Kinda off putting but such is life.

I have owned lots of knives, specifically SPyderco's and the OG Carbon Fiber s30 Kapara has to be the smoothest or one of the smoothest blades Ive had the pleasure of using. Solid as **** lockup too.

Hope to one day try this micarta version.
