REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
These look tacky to me, I can see the Walmart look referenced earlier. Great steel choice though. Could always seek other options and try to sell these scales, plenty of different scales and materials out there for the Shaman these days.

I agree, 10v and the tan were a great combination. I am just not sure on this snake pattern, neat, but I think I would rather the tan.Fastidiotus wrote: ↑Sat May 17, 2025 1:36 pmREC's 10v exclusives are the best exclusives out there in my useless opinion. Always been a head scratcher that these hang around for weeks even months while the avocados sell out in hours. Never planned on buying a Shaman, but I might not be able to refuse one in 10v.

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
This snake pattern would be a hard no for me. To me it screams "Frost Cutlery"

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
Why would they deviate from the 10v coyote brown "Scorpion" theme for the Shaman? This will most likely be the last of the 10v series. Should've saved the snake for something else, IMO.

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
I would have preferred that they stayed with the tan G10 for the Shaman but I also wonder if this is the introduction of a new exclusive and REC is going to run some of their previously released 10V models with the “snake” micarta?
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

REC, the shaman fans aren't appreciative of these awesome scales, so how about ya'll run a Manix XL or Police 4 next?
Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
They had me at Python scales. I’ve those scales on a few different models so I might have to finally try the Shaman. I see even Buck is trying it on a forthcoming model.
Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
I'm with V on this, but let's do the 10V steel and the scales though. On either the Manix 2XL or the Police4 or just really go crazy and do them both...
Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
I love the steel and the scales. Been a while since I’ve added a Shaman but this will be a good one I think…

Python Micarta Shaman? You mean this old thing?

I just might buy my first Shaman. The handles don't bother me. 10V seems like a good steel.

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
I think it looks amazing. I already have a few really nice Shamen though and I’m not sure I can justify spending that much right now. I would like to throw a set of those scales on my M4 Shaman though.

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
The handle scales are incredibly novel for a Spyderco Exclusive, and the blade steel is immaculate. I've been dying to get a higher end Spyderco in a 10v or a K390. If only it was obtainable in Canada bro

I hadn't seen this until I saw it on IG a few minutes ago. I'm typically not a fan of the whole snakeskin look but I actually kind of like these. 10V is one of the only steels I don't have yet. Too bad it's $280. Probably not going to happen for me. I rarely carry my Crucarta and SNK 4V Shamans. Doesn't make sense for me to spend the money

Re: REC 10V Shaman - “Snake” pattern scales
REC still has their exclusive 10V lil Natives in stock for about half as much as the Shaman.Sharp Guy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:32 pmI hadn't seen this until I saw it on IG a few minutes ago. This sold out in something like 6 hours yesterday. Surprised there was no buzz at all on this thread.
