Forum Logging Out/In Issues

#1

Post by TazKristi »

Hey, everyone.
First, thank you for bearing with us through the forum challenges over the past several weeks. We believe we've resolved the logging out/in issues. We need everyone to clear the forum cookies from their browser. This will resolve the issue and prevent it from happening if you haven't experienced it yet.

I have put together quick directions for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Please see below. If you have any issues with the attachments, just Google "Clear cookies for a specific site in xxxx (your browser)."

**IF you continue to have issues after the steps below, please go back through the steps AND remove the cookies for Spyderco.com AND forum.spyderco.com.**

Anyone using Chrome on Android can follow this video for directions to do the same.

Fixed my problem... I had no way to contact administrator or moderator, the site literally would not acknowledge my email or anything.

Heck I feared I had said something stupid on here and got myself banned. You probably should do that anyway, I am a big pitb and very opinionated anyway.

Safari had no issues but Chrome did but you can delete just the cookies for Spyderco.

Delete cookies from a site
  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • At the top right, select More and then Settings.
  • Select Privacy and security and then Third-party cookies.
  • Select See all site data and permissions.
  • At the top right, search for the website's name.
  • To the right of the site, select Delete Remove.
  • To confirm, select Delete.

That's why Kristi didn't bother giving the instructions for deleting cookies on Apple products.

Truthfully, it's only because I don't own any Apple products. ;)

Awesome, cool to hear a webmaster feels the same way as some of us.

Thanks @TazKristi , this was easier than expected. I orignially thought it had to do with my browser (Vivaldi) since I didn't have the same problem when logging on via Chrome. Turns out it was just a cookies issue.

On mobile Safari the site has forgotten that I’m logged in, despite selecting the “remember me” box. It’s no problem logging back in, however.
