Hello,
For several months, I have been working on a protectant for wooden kitchen knife handles and it is approaching where I want it to be. I am looking for people to test this product and provide me with feedback so that I can further improve it. I will be sending this product out for free to those who are interested. The current estimated mailing date is the first week of June. I am not sure how popular this will/wont be but I plan to limit my testers to 20 at first, assuming I get that many volunteers.
Some info about my product:
It is comprised completely of food safe ingredients. These are, ingredients that are non-toxic with incidental food contact. That said, I would not recommend anyone eat this product.
It is detergent resistant and lasts much longer than any other product that I have been able to try so far.
This product came about from my disappointment with commercially available products-specifically in regards to wooden kitchen knife handles. These handles have unique conditions where they are regularly subjected to strong detergents so the usual beeswax + mineral oil or it's common derivatives are often washed away after 1-2 washes with dish soap.
This product will likely darken your wood handle and has a light yellow tint to it once cured. This usually makes the wood grain more noticeable.
If I select you to be a tester, I will need your address and I will send you additional instructions and information about the product in a PM. For the time being, I will only be sending this product out to the continental United States. Each sample packet has approximately 1.5mL of product in it-which is about enough for 1-3 wooden knife handles, maybe more. I will mail this out at my own expense-I only ask that you provide me with some feedback about the product after using it: what you like about it, dislike about it, any relevant comments etc.
I also have a survey that I put together where you can answer some valuable questions which will also help me improve this product. I can send this via PM if you are interested in giving me some additional information.
Please let me know if you have any questions or are interested in trying my product.
