Upcoming drop from REC. Looks pretty cool and 10V is a great steel.

Are these actual Spyderco production scales or did they modify each knife themselves?

Not sure but Spyderco might be playing around with the G-10 layers like the yellow/black salt knives.

That looks like what I know as "python" micarta. Interesting looking stuff. I do have one fixed blade with it.

Happy someone said it. Tan looked great and I would have no regrets buying. I have a 10v Para 3 in the tan and it looks great on the knife.

This snake patter is really cool, catches your eye and very unique. That all being said it also kind of feels like something you would see on a $10 Walmart knife. Not sure if that is good or bad. IMO that new SMKW Grey they used on their new Shaman looks awesome.

I defiantly want to see more and better pictures, but I do like the way they are going with the scales. It opens a ton of possible color combinations and looks.

I want to see some better pix of it, but my biggest issue is all I do with these smaller knives is buy them to collect.

I just flat won't carry them more than a day or two. I made myself carry my Sage5 for a week. Killer knife, love the Rex121 steel and everything, just need it to be a 4" blade or bigger.

But V is right the snake pattern does look like something I would do lol. We have so darn many around Texas in general, they just kind of come with the territory lol...

This python micarta pattern is a pretty common offering from knife handle supply shops.
RGT actually uses it for scales for a lot of models. It is cool looking.

Cjk,

Cool looking is only skin deep, so to say; the bigger question is how it feels? That is why I want to see some better pix of it to see if this Micarta has some good built in texture or not.

Got a reply on Facebook that these come straight from Spyderco. I was just curious if they're playing around with different G10.

Wow, that’s a consideration for my 3rd and last knife of this year. Well unless things turn around for me. I keep hoping.

1000% agree, we need the Bodacious to be in something other than S30V. I have no bias against S30V, but I know a lot of others do, and doing it in something like M4 or S90V could get some new traction that it's never had before.

I will be doing my best to pick up the S30V version later this year to put my money where my mouth is. Love the design...

My only reason is I have many knives already in S30V which is a good steel . Since I have a Shaman already in the steel I want something different in the Bodacious for more variety . The Shaman exclusive is a nice jump providing a new scale design and 10V , hats off to the collaborators. MG2

REC's 10v exclusives are the best exclusives out there in my useless opinion. Always been a head scratcher that these hang around for weeks even months while the avocados sell out in hours. Never planned on buying a Shaman, but I might not be able to refuse one in 10v.
