You will notice that the serial number is on the fire control insert and is visible through a cut out in the grip frame. There is no serial number on the grip frame like a Glock has. Right now only compact grip frames are available but word has it that a full size frame and a subcompact frame are in the works.

This is a GREAT feature. Buying a new grip module is similar to buying new scales or a clip for your knife. If it doesn't come from the factory exactly the way you want, you can make it exactly the way you want for not-much-cash. And if you get a hankerin' to do a little gunsmithing, you don't need to concern yourself with permanently altering the gun.

It seems like if Glock is smart they will copy this trick eventually.

There are so many Glock-a-likes out there. Has Glock lost their leading market position? If so, who has it now?

I'd probably still say no, the last account I heard (and that was at least a year ago) was that Glock had 60% of both Law Enforcement and Military contracts Worldwide, that's big numbers!

Bought my daughter a G19 a couple years ago, haven't bought myself a Glock in years, excellent pistols and I've owned a bunch of them, they've just lost their luster with me, don't remember the last time I shot one of mine?

GPT40 says: "Estimates suggest that Glock holds a significant share of the market, often cited around 20% to 30% of the U.S. handgun market." (as of 2023)

I don't think that Glock is in any immediate danger of losing their significant market share. If you want a gun that works well for a good price and with a massive aftermarket, Glocks are great. They are not gee-whiz guns that make your heart flutter when you see them, but they are hard working guns that get the job done, and this is where the largest market really lies. While many clones now exist, a lot of the these brands are selling higher end versions that don't compete in the base model catagory where Glock finds it's largest market. I think the gun that might give the Glock a run for it's money as time goes on is the Sig P320, which is both more modular and often considered nicer out of the box than the Glock. If you live in the U.S. it is nice for some people to get a gun manufactered within the country too. There's a lot of other reasons that the P320 continues to become more sought after, but that still doesn't seem to stop the Glock from being one of the most popular, if not the most popular handgun worldwide.

The RXM is on my "to buy" list to replace my PSA Dagger (for a multitude of reasons). The grip interchangeability, optics cut style, Glock ecosystem, and price are a big draw to me as a value driven consumer. Glocks are a known good, but the value just isn't there compared to many other guns, and specifically the RXM. That, of course, is a different judgement for a large institution than an individual consumer.

While Ruger may not be quite the name in handguns as Glock, I have no worries about their support after using their customer service for my LCP Max. It seems they attempt to fix their issues promptly and kindly instead of brush them aside like other companies (at least if you follow the bruhaha bout the P320).

Some are but most still come from Austria and are imported through Smyrna.

Someone told me for personal defense and law enforcement etc Glock is the best pistol and all the mostly steel ones are too heavy and complicated.

Didn't I hear somewhere, that the P320 is the official sidearm of the US military, or at least most of it?

The P320 won the last military trials over Glock and FN.

Probably on the wrong forum to ask, but...on what points did the P320 win over Glock and FN? Or was that level of detail given?

My understanding is a combination of Sig aggressively underbid on price (>$100m) and Glock didn't do much besides put a 19 length slide on a 17 length grip (19x) with a thumb safety. Not quite modular for a "modular handgun system".

All I know is I shot all 3 and compared them closely, the FN came home with me.

I wouldn't own a P320 and I would not want to go to a range where one was in use. Give me a Glock. It works. A Smith and Wesson would be fine, also, or a Beretta, or HK. I've owned and shot them all, but the P320 scares me and more so because of Sig's attitude. Lots of companies have had issues with their pistols, including some that would fire. These, one and all, admitted it, did a recall, fixed the problem, and everyone appreciated it. I don't understand Sig's attitude in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Haven't jumped into the happenings surrounding the P320 problems as I dont intend to purchase one. As a rule I rarely look at products from companies who choose to take certain stances on safety, politics, etc.

On a side note, because I know many of us here carry/shoot/enjoy guns. Has anyone had any trigger time with the S&W CSX e series?

Rule 1 of gun fighting- have a gun. I found myself breaking this rule too often M-F in slacks and tucked in shirts. I now have a North American Arms .22 Magnum and do not break rule 1 anymore

Try a KelTec P3AT. I had one that ran flawlessly, and yes, it will kill a large 90lb + dog that is attacking you. It is so thin it will fit into a wallet and it weighs a minuscule 7 oz. (~218g).

Just passed the one year mark owning my newish CZ Shadow 2, I'm almost through my third case of ammo with it. This has turned into the best firearm purchase I've ever made! It was a little over a year ago when I set out to find a heavy, all steel hammer fired range pistol, I think I was maybe two magazines in when I knew I had made a great decision!

I think, for the price point it's the best semiautomatic pistol on the market, I worked with a guy who owns a $3500 Staccato, it's a fantastic weapon, me and him both shoot my Shadow 2 better, yeah that includes him, and it's his Staccato! I'd have to spent double, or even triple to match the performance of this CZ with another higher end brand, it shoots 15 yard groups that just make you shake your head! It's a great feeling when you know you spent your money very well and got exactly what you were looking for, can't recommend one enough!
