I am so bummed that I missed out on the Rockjumper. I see a few places with the SpyderEdge version, but I’m really interested in a plain edge. I’m hoping that a sprint will come someday.

Just got a D4 Wharn, standard model, and really like it. I still think Wharns are best in smaller knives like Dfly (lost mine at a high school wrestling dual in the stands) but this has loads of utility

I feel like the endela is the upper limit for wharncliffe length? The endura wharncliffe felt unwieldy. Maybe I wasn't used to it?

Sal has mentioned that the Leafjumper will likely get some sprints down the road. Hopefully, the same can be said for the Rockjumper. I’d love something beyond VG10.

It's the Paramilitary 2 actually. It's a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive Wharncliffe, sporting applied weapons tech scales. The model normally came with Orange G10 scales but I wanted those on another PM2 I had.

Unfortunately if you want one, you'll have to scour the secondary market as they've long since sold out from Cutlery Shoppe and last I heard they won't be doing another run of them.

I feel somewhat the same way, and I say that as someone who has used a wharncliffe (the Yojimbo 2) as his primary work/EDC knife for almost 8 years, so it's not like I'm inexperienced with or biased against wharncliffes (it's my favourite blade shape for the work that I do).

The issue—if it can be called that—with the Endura 4 Wharncliffe is the combination of the blade's length, the prominent thumb ramp, and the blade's orientation relative to the handle. When you grip the E4W how it feels like you should (thumb on the thumb ramp or resting just above or slightly behind it) and you want to raise the blade's tip while keeping your forearm in a fixed position, it takes a much more dramatic "radial" tilt of the wrist to do so than when compared to a standard Endura 4 or an Endela Wharncliffe.

Actual, real-world cutting is a dynamic process that involves multiple, simultaneous fine motor movements and adjustments, and even this small change in ergonomics can make using the E4W feel "off", particularly if one is used to the standard Endura 4. However, I think if one has no biasing prior experience with the standard Endura 4 or the shorter Delica 4 Wharncliffe and Endela Wharncliffe, this isn't a problem at all.

Note that this isn't really an issue when transitioning from the Yojimbo 2 to the YoJumbo (which has an even longer blade than the E4W) because the latter doesn't have a thumb ramp—it has the opposite of a ramp, more of a cutout for the thumb to occupy on the blade spine. Raising the tip of the YoJumbo's blade can be achieved by a combination of sliding the thumb up into this cutout and tilting the wrist upward in the radial direction in an angle not too dissimilar from that required when using the Yojimbo 2.
