Back in the 2000's I started using my SE Tasman Salt for cutting grip tape whenever I was building a new skateboard. It's like a thick sheet of 80 grit sandpaper with a strong adhesive backing.
I've talked about doing this here for decades but never actually showed you guys how it works. Here's how I setup fresh grip tape for a skateboard deck with my first run Tasman Salt:
Here's what it looks like after doing this 30 times or so:
What unusual uses have you found for your spydies?
I know this has been covered in the past but with the knife closed I use the flat edge of the exposed spine to open bottle tops by wedging it under the edge of the cap and pivoting it back against my pointer finger which is curled underneath the blade around the bottle neck.

Same here...
Quite some beers at quite some camp fires opened just like that...
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)
A few years back when I was replacing screens in some of our windows and our screen for our slider door, the flimsy rolling tool used to press the gasket material over the screen to keep it in place broke on me. I had a PM2 in my pocket that day and was using it to cut the gasket material. Turns out, the spine of the PM2/hump on the thumb ramp was a perfect fit to press the gasket into place. Used that on the slider door and two windows. A couple years later, both have held up just fine.
I daily use the hump in the spine above the spyderhole to leverage the lid off of my Snus cans. Don't have fingernails and the Spyderco is the most consistent tool I have at hand.

There is one unusual thing I do with my Spydercos, the pointier ones like Waterway, or Para 3 because it gets more pocket time. I like to poke house flies.
When done slowly, with a fly sitting in the sun or otherwise not buzzing around, I can get the knife tip to the flies' back and poke it just enough to pop it but not enough to follow though and hit what it is resting on. We did this all the time as kids, with sharpened sticks and had competitions to get the most flies.
Spyderco: Tenacious G10, Waterway, Para 3 Spy27, Pacific Salt H1, Catcherman, In the Mule Team Stable(Z-Max, Z-Wear, S45VN, Magnacut, SRS13/SUS405, M398, Aeb-l, 15v)

No offense, but I have never heard of this, and it is freaking HILARIOUS!!! I might have to try it myself!! HA! "...poke it just enough to pop it..." ha!!
I use my tasmin salt to cut the long dog hair that gets caught and wrapped around the brush on my vacuum. It works well when the brush is removed and the hump is the perfect size to fit the coin slot that allows the brush head to be removed. I’ve been doing this once a week for years now.
