So do I! These two are VG10. I already had the k390 in both edges and a pile of RockJumpers in VG10 SE. Just filling in the corners while they are still available.

Today's Mail Drop was a good one; Cutlery Shoppe exclusive Military 2, Knives Plus modded Endura bought off Reddit and 3d printed scales for my K294 mule.

Mind if I ask which Mule scales those are? And do they have a matching sheath available?jwesley235 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 7:51 pmToday's Mail Drop was a good one; Cutlery Shoppe exclusive Military 2, Knives Plus modded Endura bought off Reddit and 3d printed scales for my K294 mule.

congratulations @benben, I believe I snoozed on this one for far too long. You may have grabbed one of the last KW Exclusive Manixi. It's a great shade of green and my favorite of the 3 like steels (M390, 20CV, 204P).

Was my only PM2 until snagging a beater Rex45 this year. I like restoring them and not having to be the one to put the first scratch on them. Cheers!benben wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 8:28 pmThank you sir, should pair up nicely with my one and only PM2.

Thanks, maybe I'll make an Etsy to check it out, been seeing others refer to it more often recently...jwesley235 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 8:12 pmElijah Sonntag Designs on Etsy; he has a variety of scale types but no sheaths that I can see, unfortunately.Mind if I ask which Mule scales those are? Congrats, they are hard to find these days! It was my most carried EDC office knife for a few years.

Nice one! I was on the fence for such a long time while the Schempp Bowie was still available. Eventually it passed me by.Spyderwebs wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 9:41 pmGrail incoming. I really like negative angle blades so this was always interesting.

What, mine? Tomorrow or Thursday? You got to be talking to someone else Dan lol... Everything I ever get from ebay it usually takes 10 days or more... Seems all my stuff goes through customs twice lol. Then they sit on it and think about it.
Heck I can get scales from Ukraine quicker...lol
Maybe this will be the exception, long as it's a good shade of green in all the different light or least for the most part, I will be very pleased.
Finding green is hard and then I started looking for green Micarta with some texture to it, like my Camel Manix 2XL. My Camel is G10 and not Micarta at all.
I like this texture on the Camel, just wished it was a little more green but It's growing on me, just so long as I don't have to feed and water this beast lol.
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
which one did you grab?
btw your enthusiasm for the manix xl has me carrying mine more often lately. it's been third place to the police and military for me for years, so I usually grab one of those two. but there's something about how perfect the handle feels for me that keeps me coming back to it.
if you've never tried the lockback version (Spyderco C95 Manix) you should track one of those down too. It's got a thicker blade and beefier feel overall.

This sprint run version is rare, only 600 made. Me and Apollo each have one. The black scaled versions go for a very reasonable price.....usually $120-180.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Oh, that is good then...

Well I will be the first to admit I love the way the Manix 2XL grips in the paw. It just couldn't get much better feeling in my beat up paw...vivi wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 1:45 pmwhich one did you grab?

Now I will say, I do also have a Military 2 or a Police4 on board also, with my Manix 2XL which has been the Camel here for the last few weeks. Trying to warm up to color of it lol. It's OK or I would just dye the Camel more greenish. I should feel guilty for having as many Spyderco knives as I do, but I don't feel guilty at all lol.
Now this new Manix 2XL I have coming I got off ebay is a green Micarta, with the same rough texture as my Camel, or at least it's supposed to be lol...
I looked all over for just the green Micarta textured scales and never found anything. This is a knife with the scales already on and supposed to be S30V steel, heck long as it's the Manix 2XL size, then the textured green scales I will be thrilled at this point. I do all my own stuff as a rule, this will be a first like this...
I don't even know what part of the world this knife is coming from either, so it too; may get to go through customs lol...
If the Camel had been more green, I would probably not even looked for this and just waited on the Manix 2XL with the MagnaCut steel. As it turned out it wasn't and I didn't wait lol.
The other thing I see right now with the Manix knives with the MagnaCut steel is they all are linerless and I am not a fan of how the two scale half go together. So the jury is still out on that anyway for me.
Coarse now, I am still waiting on the big Manix with the MagnaCut steel, and another hopefully more greenish one also, which is just fine...
Heck I am going to keep on at this, and have to go back to work and get off this retirement thing I not doing so well at lol...
I have way to many hobbies and none of them easy or cheap lol. I just look at stuff around here and it's a 1000 bucks, then when I get it started thinking that would take care of it, that's when things get really expensive for me lol.
They all are just really small projects too... I just don't know how I ever did anything while I was working, seems like there is always something else around here lol... None of it small, easy to fix or build, I don't get it lol, and I ain't sitting on the porch either...
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I hope they end up doing a magnacut manix xl with the textured g10 scales like they did the military. But my biggest hope of all is we see a Police Salt one day.Jeb wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 4:07 pmWell I will be the first to admit I love the way the Manix 2XL grips in the paw. Back in the day I used to have to choose between one of my top 3 (Military, Police or Manix XL), or choose to carry a rust proof knife in a design I was less fond of (Pacific Salt). I love that now I don't have to make that choice....I can carry a rust proof version of the larger, more ergonomic Military.
Would love to have that option with my other two favorite models, though the S30V DLC Manix XL is pretty tough to rust in my experience. I might pick up another of those if a salt version isn't announced soon.
There was a guy that did micarta Manix XL scales. Allen Puttman I think? No idea if he's still around but you may be able to find some still. That's what I have on my M4 Manix XL I carry every once in a while.
Here's another shot of the scales from my M4 Manix, the jade green ones that are nearly clear. Kelly green, then dyed the ends a black fade.

Some more shots from when I dyed them:

M4 XL.
Next time I post a picture of it the handle should be a different color. The Kelly Green dye looks closer to foliage green in person. Hope it works. If not, there's always black.
Figured this would be a fun experiment while I wait for my micarta scales to be made.
I think I'm going to try this dye on my LC200N Pacific too. Planned on going black but I might as well give this a shot first.

That thing looks killer man. Mine is not dlc coated, so it's more of special accusation knife lol...
