That is some really nice handy work here. The blades are really great.XjJunky wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 6:02 pmStarted off by soaking the blade for 30 minutes in apple cider vinegar to get a nice dull patina. Then mixed Grey Upon Dijon mustard with apple cider vinegar until I got the consistency I was looking for. Put the mustard mixture in a needle top squeeze bottle and started making flame like and blob designs on the blade. Let sit for 30-45 minutes, washed the blade off and repeated the process until it got the colors I wanted( I did 6 times). Then I soaked in apple cider vinegar for another 30 minutes. Immediately removed from vinegar and as I rinsed with hot water, I used a green Scotch Brite pad and rubbed with moderate pressure. As I rubbed it turned really dark, almost black. It has lightened up a bit with use.
Did the same with the Enuff 2, only did not pre or post soak in apple cider or use the Scotch Brite pad. The blade does not have the dark patina. Also Rit Dyed the handle graphite black. Dipped the blue handle in black until it reached a pretty close gun metal blue color. Here are some pictures(wrong place for this, so I hope nobody minds)
Disassembled and testing under handle just in case.
Before assembly after I got it finished
After all assembled with dyed handle. The blues in the blade are amazing, photos don't really bring it out.
And one last one for comparison.

Well guys yes and no . This is South out of town and yes for miles and miles it’s pancake world . Rivers change the landscape dramatically, so I live in both worlds .
