My new dedicated workbench knife

Rockjumper SE...I'm guessing it will be well suited for this role and the price was right. Fits my hand better than Endura, feels similar to Stretch without the choil plus a wee bit more room if wearing gloves.

Rock Jumper SE has become a favorite Wharnie for me . Agree it has the Stretch 2 feel in hand . I hope the larger future models will not be shelved. Great design. MG2

Oh, that's hard... I like my lanyard 's on my knives lol... I been using a lanyard since I was a kid and there was no such thing as a pocket clip. Back then it kept me from having to deep dive into the bottom of my pocket to get my knife.

Nowadays I still like it better than the same knife without the lanyard. I don't have to do anything but grab the lanyard and my knife is out and open.

So you quit being so mean about my lanyard holes lol.
What's not to like about these anyway, you keep that kind of talk up they will quit drilling and/or tubing our knifes for them.

Would have been a great calendar submission photo! I've ended up with 2 Rockjumper SE and 2 Endela Wharncliffe SE with the never ending sale prices that have been going on. Absolutely love the Rock/Leafjumpers and was sad to see that Spydercos handle forward design wasn't a success. Hopefully in a few years we can all cry and complain enough the get a Jumper Sprint of some kind.

I always recommend the Endela SE to pretty much everyone and say that if people happen to not like the design enough for carrying it as a regular EDC, it still is the perfect tool box (or workbench) knife.

But the Rockjumper SE might very well be at least as good in that role!

Had one briefly, liked it a lot, and actually only sold it because for the way I hold and use knives that Endela SE was (is) still just a tad better and has a bit more cutting edge (have to say it again: If the RJ (and also Leafjumper) had delivered on that advertisement to "pack as much cutting edge as possible in the handle" and a truly handle filling blade and thus a longer edge, I´d probably still own one).
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

I bought six in total as work knives to give to my team of staff with a couple of spares. They’re ideal for the basic bushcraft stuff and most forestry management tasks we use folders for. My only wish is that they were an inch longer in the sharpened blade, but overall a solid design.

Nice! Here is mine. I find the wharncliffe to be very versatile, but I prefer PE.

Thanks to all for the comments. Hey, I was just comparing the RockJumper to my Stretch and Endura, and low and behold it has a larger lanyard hole, looks to be PM2 size. And when I read Spyderco's description of the knife, they mention an oversized lanyard hole too. That makes it easier to hang on the pegboard hooks, yay! But even so, no "knife on a rope" for me!! :grin-squint

At the current price I have bought half a dozen of the Rock Jumper SE knives and have a great performing Spyderco gateway knife to gift to people. Fantastic knife at the original MAP let alone the current 50ish you can buy them for!

Agreed on the inch longer blade! I’m not giving up hope that we’ll see a backlock lightweight Caribbean someday.

#bdblue , I bet that 4V Mule is a tough hombre and well suited for tool box or workbench duty!! I saw some of your Mule handle work on the Mule forum and they really look good! :drooling
