Manix Monday

#1

Post by Jeb »

I think we need to have Mondays designated as-

"Manix Monday" Can't think of a better way to start a new week guys. I just so happened to have gotten a new Manix2XL in this morning and that was quite the treat.

We had really bad wind blowing here all day, it's so dry too, from the lack of rain for way to long; we'll we were treated to what we call a brown out!

That, for those of you that have been blessed with not knowing what this is, it's a really bad sand storm and the sand and dirt get in the air so bad that street lights come on, as it's that dark. The dirt gets into everything too. It's truly just awful lol.

So my Manix2XL that showed up this morning was really special. Had to go help the neighbor a little, put up a new wind sock and that was no easy task in the wind we had, but I do like a challenge and a 5' wind sock in the wind we had on the top of his shop was a blast lol, get it? A blast lol...My neighbor is an Aero Care medical helicopter pilot. First Responder kind of pilot...

Anyway back to the topic of the first day of the week, I have not seen anything before designated for Mondays, so how bout "Manix" Monday???

I have a dandy here that I have carried better than half the day, have still not honed it, which I really very seldom ever carry a knife, new or otherwise that I don't hone out and polish to a Razor, first off... Coarse I had plenty others on me just in case, and they all are Razor sharp lol. But still I let my standards slip a little with this new Manix...

So this new manix2XL is really special, to get carried this quick. I did take the time to install a green Flytanium ball cage and their, lighter weight spring in it, I still use the steel ball bearing.

But that was it, in the pocket, no lanyard either, something else I never do for a knife like this one. Knife like this always gets the lanyard before it gets carried, I honestly don't know how you guys can carry a knife like this without one lol. It drove me nuts when I would reach for it and I had to go all the way to the pocket to get this knife out lol.

So, we really have had a special day of events here all day. My freaking OCD is going nuts too lol. It's just screaming "Manix Monday " lol

So how bout the Manix Monday guys???

It's just another Manix Monday (Ooh-oh)
Wish it were Sunday (Ooh-oh)
'Cause that's my fun day (Ooh-oh)
My I-don't-have-to-run day (Ooh)
It's just another Manix Monday

Maybe a good way to start with a few extra Manixes.
It was my entry for the precious calendar contest.

What a pic sir, that thing is awesome. You can even zoom in and read what blade steel you have and I always want to know lol. I have this OCD bug bite thing that is a constant lol.

The collection of Manix there is really quite special, several there I have trolled around only looking so far at what those cost now lol.

Then you got all the coins, badges, decals and those metal spyder Amsterdam attendees, for lack of a better word for them, are they metal, wow neat???

Just the whole thing is really quite something, and to be able to capture that all in a pic of that quality is amazing.

Thank you for tacking that up here...Maybe we can have a Manix Monday with your pic to help boost buy in on this lol.

Thx Jeb you really made my day with your kindness. :smlling-eyes
The Amsterdam meet Spyderco logo’s are indeed metal. Its beside the knife gift , the thing i look for the most in the giftbag. :zany

The quality of the picture has bin a sort of a miracle as its just made with my phone’s camera. :grin-sweat
But i need to say the picture is sadly only just a part of my Manix collection as my Original lockbacks , Lw’s and my XL’s did not have the room to join. :no-mouth

But i sure do hope our beloved forum members get inspired and Manix monday becomes a tradition. :smlling-eyes

This is awesome, I do think that we can spill over into today without any snags... Specially since we're trying to get buy in on the tacking up pix and posts to the fact of a Manix Monday.

It's like coloring outside the lines a little is all lol... I just got through with do the re-profile of the edge of two Manix2 's, one was a Manix2xl with S30V which was not so bad, the other was the Manix2 with the S110V and that one took twice as much to get the edge honed the same as the S30V did.

I honed and polished these at 15 dps and they are ready for a lanyard now. The weather is still really nasty here today, so the perfect day to work on stuff like this.
Color outside the lines a little more. Lol
