Thanks for the pick. Glad to be back but I'll be a lot slower. Looking forward to some great photos this week.

So I took this shot the day it snowed in Roswell, Ga. a couple weeks ago…I was up before it started and knew there wouldn’t be many people on the roads because sadly most everyone fears a few inches of snow around here so I locked in my hubs and drove to a local hiking trail…this lake is a mile or so back in the woods and it was obvious nobody had been there so I set up shop…if you look closely on the right edge of the photo you’ll see a hole in the ice where I threw large rock cause that’s what we used to do as kids…went back the next day and there were holes everywhere 😉

Hi All,

I have noticed that the pictures shown in this thread are quite exceptional. I applaud the thread and the Photographic skill. We are all fortunate to have a lot of talent here. Would anyone here object if I put all or most of the pictures here all in one place and did something with them, like maybe print them?

I enjoy the pictures here on the forum, enjoy posting pictures to the forum, and I enjoy other people enjoying the same! So I personally would have no issue with that, please do.

Those involved in starting and maintaining the thread would have to work with Spyderco crew to make it happen. I think that some type of credit for the photographer with each photo would be nice? A Pamphlet of 10 years of photos from a forum photo contest could be an accomplishment for those involved?

I'm very impressed with the Thread and I haven't even seen every photo.

That would be excellent ! I haven't been much active during the past months but in addition to very very good pictures, it's a thread with so many participants that smells like comradery and good vibes !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Sounds like a great idea. I’ve been active for a while now but I did not start this wonderful thread. But we all, I’m sure would love to help. Just let us know what you come up with.

I have no problem with Spyderco using any I have posted in this thread. In the past I gave Taz permission to use shots in my personal thread . Thank you Sal . MG2 ( Dan )

I've enjoyed going through this thread and looking at the photos but this one was really cool because I recognized the location right away. We used to take our GSDs there pretty often but the older one is gone now and the younger one seems older and less agile since he's been gone. Maybe she'd like to do it again sometime soon for old time's sake to remember her buddy and, when we do, I'll have my new Chaparral CF in my pocket.

One difficulty would be gathering the photos from the early years in the thread. Many forum members who posted back then are no longer active on the forum and there are a lot of photos that that don't show because the photo hosting links have expired.

The forum member who started this thread @Johnnie1801 has not been active since 2019. There has also never really been any one member maintaining the thread, it has been a shared effort over the years. The dedication to keep this thread active is commendable and even though I don't enter as much as I used I still really like to check out the results each week.

Yeah I haven't looked back much yet, but I know I used to use photobucket and they basically held all the photos for ransom, and I'm assuming a lot of the old links from years ago are dead or broken images, or at least have their watermark plastered all over my personal photos and no way to recover them unless I pay.

You've been putting up some awesome captures yourself, really keeping this forum going regularly on a lot of the threads. I like a lot of your knife selection, inspires me to dig out some of my old buried models.
