At least Sal asked what steel variants we´d like to see in the Chap (of course you know that threadSaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 6:29 amAgreed and a Salt version would make it #1 for me![]()
/ As for the current Chap SE: Said it in another post already: I really love those situations when a Spydie comes along from time to time and somehow becomes an instant "hit" on this forum, despite it might not on the general market.
The Chap SE definitely is such a model: Except one single account I´ve only read from "really positive" to "amazing" among all those who actually tried it.
In any case for me it is one of the most enjoyable things here to share the passion for a certain model with fellow forum members! (Or even just watch others sharing it)
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):

viewtopic.php?p=1813962#p1813962) - so there is at least some hope that one day we´ll see a Chap Salt - and if so imo it would be REALLY sad if that one got no SE version...

I don´t see any reason for having to apologize for "raving about [a Spydie] yet again", my friend...SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 7:12 amThe reason I like it so much is even though I have quite a few Spyderco’s I normally carry the Native Salt PE and the Dfly Salt SE but the Chap SE is so good it’s all I need for EDC plus it would allow me to carry a larger knife if I was so inclined…I apologize for yet again raving about this little beast but it has really won me over…Taiwan is already set up for salt production and Magnacut so maybe one day it’ll happen

- For one, no one is forced to read what they do not want to read (once again), right?
- Then I think the vast majority of folks frequenting this forum do not even nearly read each and every post anyway, so for most there might not be a repetition
- Those who do choose to read several times about people really sharing their joy about a Spyderco but do NOT like that: Well, I don´t think the problem here is on the side of those who chat about their positive impressions...
- I don´t think that Sal would say it is a detriment or negative for "his" forum when people repeatedly talk about how good a Spyderco product really is...
- Lastly, in a way it is valid info if people see that a certain model is still and always liked even after some use and after the "honeymoon phase" is over. If I for example would not have a Chap SE yet, but realize that folks like you or @JoviAl appreciate it still after some real use and testing, this would offer a real, solid pro - "data point" for me when thinking about trying one myself...

Would love such on one of my Stretch 1s ... (for no objective reason this is the model I always think of giving it special Micarta scales...)

Just took a moment out from fixing up my son’s mini bike to read the forum notification I got from your post Gernot. Here is a picture of my work space… with the SE Chap just getting it done next to the impact driver and torque wrenchWartstein wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 11:11 pmI don´t see any reason for having to apologize for "raving about [a Spydie] yet again", my friend...SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 7:12 amThe reason I like it so much is even though I have quite a few Spyderco’s I normally carry the Native Salt PE and the Dfly Salt SE but the Chap SE is so good it’s all I need for EDC plus it would allow me to carry a larger knife if I was so inclined…I apologize for yet again raving about this little beast but it has really won me over…Taiwan is already set up for salt production and Magnacut so maybe one day it’ll happen
