black salts!

#1

Post by ladybug93 »

first and foremost, thank you sal and spyderco for the newly added salt models, and especially for the addition of blacked out salt models. i can't wait to get my hands on the new manix and military salt models!

this leads me to another request that i know has been brought up in the past at least a handful of times... can we please get more lightweight salt models in all black as well? the stretch 2 xl needs a blackout model, as does the manix, native, and dragonfly. the little bug salts (like the hawkbill ladybug) would also be amazing in all black.

please and thank you!

Dear ladybug93,
I could not agree more!
Lightweight, spyderedge, all-black salt models is what I need.
Out of more than 100 Spyderco models that I have, only one (Pacific Salt 2, black blade, spyderedge) fulfills my needs.
Please Mr. Glesser listen to ladybug93.

All the best,
WilliamDK

I plan to try and score me the M2 when they release, what would be really great is a Police4 in the magnacut and the Manix2 XL as well, least one of these bigger knifes.

The blacked-out Manix Salt really does look nice, doesn't it? And not only that, I've handled a friend's Caribbean and the machined G10 scales were really impressive. I expect Manix fans will be all over this one.

It's not an ideal solution but at least blade/scale swaps can be done with FRN handles now that they actually offer more Salts with blade coatings.

I do agree that black coated Salts with FRN scales should be an option from factory in the first place though.

Especially an all black Ladybug Hawkbill! ;) We need a factory production version of this Salt!!!

While we're at it we might as well add an all black Dragonfly Hawkbill and Manbug Hawkbill to the list. :cheap-sunglasses

yes. i'm a huge fan of the manix and i also happen to really like the caribbean. i'm stoked about trying this new take on the scale texture from the caribbean. no doubt i will absolutely love this manix. it might even jump to the top of the list over my other five.

dude. i can't believe i forgot to mention the spyderhawk and tasman. my bad. i'd like a tasman salt in all black too.

oh, and while i'm here talking about black salts again, the matriarch 2 emerson opener would be an excellent addition to the salt lineup. a lil matriarch with a wave would be nice as well. how about a delica and endura wave salt in all black too? i think self-defense knives would be very good candidates for salt knives because you can always keep them on you with very little concern about maintenance. i'd love to get a wave delica salt for my daughter as she's getting ready to leave for college on the coast in the fall.

that's the salt goat right there!

it might be edged out (pun intended) by the stretch 2 xl salt, if it were all black.

I already have Black Tasmans in both SE and PE. Love them. Got a Manbug Hawkbill inbound, not a Salt but still a black Hawkbill.

I'm just ticked that I couldn't find my blacked-out Salt anywhere, hoping I didn't lose it somewhere during a hike or something. Definitely one of my beater blades and more blacked-out options would be great, although the all black coloration is a PITA when you're trying to find it after losing it.

that's part of why i've also always advocated for coated blades with the colored scales as an option as well.

Big fan of the blacked out Magnacut Para2. Looking forward to more in this series. Love the handle grooves.

Same here, I like the black Salts.

For medium to large blades though, I much prefer G-10 (or micarta would be good too). An example is the Stretch 2 XL - I like the one with G-10, but not the LW version. YMMV :smlling-eyes
