They've done a few restocks of old Massdrop models, and have some great sales.

In the last couple years I've picked up a Terzuola CTF and Cyrus, and an Ochs Orca. I don't think I paid over $100 for any of them

...I know, sorry, I'm distracted now from the topic which I myself dug up and bumped from extinction haha. But I do still wonder about Super Gold 2...
If you're just interested in trying the steel it's available from other companies in fixed blades, just have to look for it under various aliases. Fallkniven calls it 3G and uses it in some of their fancier stuff. In Japanese kitchen knives it's often called R2. Tojiro has a whole lineup with it, and other makers use it as well.

I have a 150mm petty from Tojiro and a 210mm gyuto from a smaller maker in it. I'm not going out of my way looking for more knives in it but I'd buy both again.

If I was looking for a balanced PM steel with a good sharpening response in a pocketknife at this point I'd buy something in SPY27 (or magnacut? no personal experience there) and not worry about trying to find SG2.
