Spyderco Sage 5 In Magnacut

#1

Post by Bouddha77 »

Hello all,

Kinda new here, so I hope I will not start it wrong...

I am awaiting the Spyderco Sage 5 LW in Magnacut and have seen Spyderco have announced it since some time now.
Do we have any rough estimate as to how long it usually takes for Spyderco to make such a model available after announcement?

Thanks & regards

It can vary quite a bit. Some models come very soon after being announced and some take considerably longer.

@Bouddha77 Generally, with the window is 1 month to 1 year of it being announced. There are just so many issues with the manufacturing process that could cause delays, that Spyderco never puts a date on any of their releases. But stay tuned to this forum and you will be one of the first to know when they start appearing at your local dealer.

Five hours ago, someone posted on the FB Millie Club that these were in stock at Knifeworks.

It is listed under New Arrivals, but now shows as Out of Stock.

Hopefully other dealers will be receiving them in the next few days.

Thank you all for your responses.

I hope the soon listed everywhere is more like within a few weeks rather than a Year.

Personal opinion, a listed as "soon" should be within a few weeks window and not something like can be 2 weeks up to 52 weeks...

Anyhow, I am, as you can read eagerly waiting for this one. I have "tons" of Spyderco and most are great/enjoyable but I really have a soft spot for the Sage 5 LW and Magnacut so as soon as they are available, I will pick some.... :-)

Other than that, I am also awaiting a Manix LW in 15v.... great times ahead with Spyderco been so dynamic and boundaries testing.

Thank you very much for posting this!
I unfortunately do not live in the USA so I will not be able to purchase from this dealer but the good news is that they are coming!

I've been using my sample for a while now. Very impressive folder. My hat's off to Larrin and to our Maker.

Lucky you :winking-tongue

I already enjoy the SPY27,REX121,MAXAMET versions. The wait for this one is excruciating and I cannot even properly explain/define why the sage 5 LW is my favourite folding knife...

Thanks,

Seems I missed the opportunity as they are now out of stock.
Anyhow, it shouldn't be long now before DLT's/Knifecenter also receive them

I gotta say I regret my pre-order on KnifeCenter. Hopefully that's just a couple of days away?

KnifeCenter pre-orders are $0 down, aren't they? Couldn't you just cancel with them and snag one of the ones in stock (assuming it's a dealer you trust)?

Just call them to cancel, honestly I have not been thrilled with their preorder system. There were times in the past where I preordered, the knife came in stock and they sent out new orders before fulfilling the preorders.
