Help dating a flyer

#1

Post by Chris_in_Texas »

Hello,

I downloaded a Spyderco flyer online somewhere, and now I can't remember where. Its a two page PDF listing some of their knives. I am trying to date this flyer at least to the year it might have been released? I have included pictures of the two pages.

Strange that they list the C39 Dyad Jr as a C39 Gemini, and also there isn't any info on the C46 Bob Lum. Based off this I would say 98-99-00 timeframe, just wondering if the historians could date this flyer?

Jess Horn and Wayne Goddard are there in black. RIP. We're talking about the nineties, probably somewhere around the mid nineties.

I recognized that flyer from this site, which has many older flyers and catalogues that are worth a read:

https://catalogs.z6.web.core.windows.net/

The website above doesn't list a date for this particular flyer though.

Most of the knives listed in the 'Latest designs' section on p.2 of this flyer were released in 1997-98 per Spydiewiki, so my assumption is that the flyer is from '97 or early '98. E.g., the C40 was only produced from 1997-99.

I am far from a historian so hopefully someone knows the actual year! Great find regardless.

That flyer is from the late 1990's, I believe, just based on the offerings.

I believe flyer may be from 1997 , according the Spydiewiki the Dyad was first introduced as Gemini and then changed two more times , Mini Dyad to Dyad Jr. . MG2

I thought you were really into hockey when I first read the title of this thread... sorry about the dad joke.

Super cool to see the old models and see how far things have come!
