Value Rookie?

#1

Post by Piet.S »

Just a little question. Can someone indicate what a G-10 Rookie SE would be worth? New but without the box.

My value

The only thing I can tell you is what I paid for mine. I have a Plain edged G-10 handled ATS-55 Rookie that I bought from another collector that I know personally. I paid him $80 for it. I have seen them on Ebay go for less and I have seen them on Ebay go for much more. So with that being said I am satisfied with what I paid for mine.

Now just 10 days ago I got a stainless handled Rookie new in the factory box. I got it for $53 with shipping included. Yeah!! you're right!! It don't make sense

i have been debating whether or not to pick up a ss se rookie myself, no box, and i think even with a deal, this store still wants 100 bucks. /// pricing is a little different up here in canada.

I'd say $60-$80USD is good, but it's okay to spend more if you just have to have it, we all know how that goes. :)

Come on guys there is much more to say about the C-51 Rookie than what is here on this thread as of now. This is even borderline dis-respectful :( . The Rookie is not only a hidden classic about to erupt in the same fashion as the Gunting but may even make it to my top 10 which I am about to release ;) .

It may even be Spyderco's best folder of it's size. It is truly an enigma to me as to why it didn't take off when it was in production. I think it should even be considered as a comeback candidate. I think if they would bring back the Rookie in ZDP-189 with a combo edge you wouldn't even be able to keep them in stock  .

The Rookie truly is a "lost classic" in the Spyderco line. ;) :spyder:

Hmmmm? I wonder what would give you guys that idea :D . I will try to get the list complete by Monday. I still have 2 that I haven't fully decided on yet. I can tell you this much though>>> Not too many made the list that were manufactured before 1997. My golden Spyder era is from 1998 to 2003. I can already tell you 2 that didn't make the list: They are the Manix and Chinook II. OK!!! Drop your rocks  Look at the list before you call up a lynch mob :D Plus not many little Spyders made it either. OK now you can blow fuses thinking it over :D :spyder:
