I was four-wheel driving in a pretty secluded area of the California Coast, and came across a young looking backpacker that looked completely lost.

She was separated from her group.

I had gone thru my SUV the week before, and forget to put the half-dozen (yeah, I know, "why ONLY" half a dozen!") knives that are normally in my truck back into it.

So that meant I only had 4 knives on me. YOJIMBO (clearly too big for her).

Spy-27 Mil 2. My beloved and sacred Ayoob.

Or my latest purchase -- POLICE 4 in Micro-Melt PD#1.

After about 10 minutes or so of very basic DEFENSE WITH A KNIFE CLASS (and repeated offers to take her back to civilization) I handed over my PURPLE WONDER THAT I HADNT EVEN CUT ONE SHEET OF PAPER WITH...

Let's hope she mails it back to me as promised.

But even if she doesn't, I know she'll be far, far safer carrying the chartreuse SPYDERCO POLICE 4 hidden closed in her right hand last weekend.....😇

Any chance this was the Lost Coast? I've always thought that trail would be very easy to have a mishap.

At any rate, very kind of you to give your assistance. When you (hopefully!) get the knife back, it'll have a great origin story.

I have a couple of co-workers I know are very lonely with almost no friends or family, and it hurts my heart to know they will be alone for the holidays. On top of all that they don't really " fit in" with the cool kids at work and are made fun of etc. Even as an adult this stuff happens, its not just at the school yard lunch room when your kids. So I gifted a couple of my Spyderco from my collection to hopefully brighten their holidays. One got a new native chief s30v and the other received a crucarta manix 2! Oh man were they thrilled! The smile on their faces was priceless and worth every penny I spent on these knives. I'm glad I could make them feel good for a bit and I hope they get good use from the knives.
Be kind d to people because you don't know what people are going through in their head ya know.....just saying

Sounds like a lot of you seem to be "doing the right things for the right reasons". Very cool stuff.
We need more of that.

3 months!!!! :rofl What was she doing??? Did she get lost lol :zany

I'd have given up on the knife after a month, two it'd have been forgotten and at three, a distant memory. And then it turns up! Hopefully in the same condition you left it in, and not splattered in zombie brains and pterodactyl wings :camping

She left a nice note inside.
Apologized for taking so long to ship it back to me.

Bought her own Spyderco she liked it so much!

It was indeed a lucky guess, and they were lucky to have met such a kind person in that situation. I live in the Russian River Valley area and have been to out to Shelter Cove/Whitehorn numerous times, so I know how remote that whole region is. You do not want to lose your way out there!
