I thought I was going crazy for a second. The evened out the edge on the KME but there is no way I could have sharpened it down to alter the look of it. Maybe it was an odd shape from the factory.
I got it from Smokey Moutain Knife Works, a reputable dealer. For all the comments I read about K390 rusting I haven’t seen any patina form.
It kind of looks different like the upturn is more abrupt, but the angle of photo and shadow could be making it worse, hard to say whats happening there. Do you have another Delica to line them up? Personally I might rather just return it to SMKW if possible so I don't have to keep noticing it.

I sharpened it so I doubt they will take it back lol. I don’t have another Delica to compare.
Hopefully it’s not a fake
In my opinion, you can't completely rule out the possibility that you caused this while sharpening considering that you didn't notice it until afterwards. Not saying that's what happened. Just saying that you can't be 100% sure.
If it were mine, I would either try to ignore it and use the knife as normal or buy a new Delica.
I don't think the tip is too thin in your picture. It looks just like the blade on my Delica 4 but it's hard to say for sure without having your knife in my hand.

Maybe I sharpened it too much, but I bought it on Black Friday, this was the first time I took the KME to it. Although, those diamond stones can cut off a lot.
Thanks for checking on the tip. I keep coming back to the Delica as my everyday knife. The most comfortable for me. I’m thinking of grabbing the S30V version.
I didn’t notice before, but does this shape of the blade look different? The pictures online have more of a gentle curve.
I have many Delicas
I have seen variations in the factory grinding
There’s no way you did that without knowing. Even on a 200 grit diamond plate it would take a while to grind K390 down that much. Or many many sharpenings.
Not sure how you didn’t notice this when it was new. if it looked like that when I got it, I would have it returned it
Every K390 blade I've had was ground/sharpened differently than its counterparts in other steels.
The K390 wharncliffe models, for instance, tend to have a gentle hawkbill shape towards the tip and are not a true straight edge. Whereas VG-10, 20CV, HAP40, S30V have not had this issue for me. I've also seen more than one K390 Delica where the opening hole was noticeably larger in diameter than other Delicas.
I attribute this to the fact that the steel is so much more wear-resistant and presumably difficult to work with than other steels, but who knows if that's really why.
If it bugs you, call customer service. They might do a blade swap.

I wondered that too. They have to grind out a ton of these, I can’t fault them for a few of them being off. I’ve grown to like it, plus I spend a good time evening out the bevels to 17° and don’t want to start all over with another one haha.
