I got insanely lucky this year and got my grail that I've been chasing for last 5 years!
You got yourself a Paysan. Very cool! How is it?
The Paysan that I got in the online sale a few years ago it's fantastic. One of my prized possessions for sure
The lock up is really late (basically touching the opposite side of the frame) and sticky so I need to see if I can source a new lock bar insert but otherwise it’s beautiful and I’m over the moon with it!
I remember this knife!!!
A Spyderco team member with a basket was going around and found my son and I sitting and looking through the knives in our basket, and asked us if we wanted to try a really cool knife. The Paysan was the knife he pulled out. We both tried it, and it wasn't really for us, mainly for the price, but I'm not really a ti/framelock kind of guy (a lefty at that), so we passed. I'm so glad to hear it went to someone who was really looking for one, that's awesome!
That’s awesome that they came over to you to see if you wanted it!
Even cooler that you got to take your son with you!
Great haul @Bstueve! I briefly searched for a live blade P'Kal but my attention quickly went somewhere else and I never ended up finding one. Maybe next year.
@Mrj I don't mean to speak for Bstueve but yes, the Spymytos were all numbered and from the 2000 piece run.
I was lucky. A guy I stood by in line for my first sale and have seen at the subsequent sales found me and said I think you might want this for the spymoto. As mentioned, it is numbered. I assume that there is not a first made to take that number after becoming a 2nd. Mine is of great quality and not sure why it is a 2nd. Yablonwitz, I was excited to find the Karahawk. It has grown on me. It is very flat and sits hidden in the fifth jean pocket and opens like lighting upon withdraw. I planned to meet some of the early lineup guys, but my daughter and I got in later that planned. Maybe next year we'll be earlier. I'll share a Karahawk next year if I find one.

@Mushroom,
I've been carrying the P'Kal and I like it. I normally carry a Manix 2 LW. I love how I can one hand close it by scrunching it in the base of the palm and flicking it shut. The P'Kal closes similarly but it bit me pretty good on the palm cause the blade is longer in relation to the handle so I have to be careful closing it.

Sorry to hear you got bit but now you know it's officially yours!
I've been bit by the Phoenix in the same exact way - the tip just slightly caught my palm before fully closing. It's funny that you mention it happening with the P'Kal though because I actually bought a P'Kal Trainer and while playing around with it the other day, I got "bit" by that one in the same way. I noticed and made sure to keep it in mind for when I get the edged version.

So did the seconds have duplicate numbers or not all 2000 made the cut?
I'm pretty sure they were from the 2000 piece run but they didn't make the cut. Every one I saw had a different number.
So what you are saying is that the one I have is actually more rare
Yeah that's one way to look at it! Maybe instead of one (####) of 2000, you have one (####) of 1970 (*that made the cut)
*I don't know actually know how many didn't pass quality control - 30 was just wild guess but between myself and the others sorting around me, I know there were at least ten but I'm certain there were more than that through out this and the OpFocus sale. Difficult to know for sure without knowledge from behind the scenes.
