I'm a fan of the Endura in all its forms. This is one of my latest, a flat VG10 in grey. Noticeably lighter than the fully serrated thicker bladed model. Lovely. If a knife can be called lovely, lol.

Hi Paul , to be honest I didn’t know what to think after reads in General . I thought I might as well jump in and order since the Manix is a big favorite and didn’t have any Magnacut in Salt group . Mine came in with no problems except for two scale screws that were a little loose when checking after taking out of box . Mine opens smoothly and after just a day in pocket drop shuts nicely. I don’t consider myself to be a lightweight expert since only have three in collection but the Salt is no different than my original and SNK lightweight . I plan to give it more pocket time since weather here is snow and wet , so perfect conditions to evaluate. I definitely can see me having it in pocket in the Summer with a SE model of some type for yard and long hikes .

A “brand new” 2004 Spyderco Scorpius C87S, from the old stock of a local hardware shop. Still in its grey Spydie box, complete with the protective plastic sticker on the SS handle, in its protective plastic bag. A 21 year old “new” knife. The Scorpius has amazing ergonomics.

SV4,

That is an awesome knife, one I have never seen too. Now I am not sure about that film they stick to the scales of knifes, but that sort of film on other stuff I have had some issues with, if it was left on there to long.

I would definitely find out if it's OK to leave it on those scales or if maybe should remove it. I have had a couple issues where guys I fish with left that film on sonar equipment screens and it ruined the finish.

That being such the knife, I would hate to see something bad happened all for the wrong reasons.
Heck I don't even have a gray Spyderco box like that lol. I keep all my boxes too, nothing irritates me more than to order a new knife and it comes in all smashed lol.

You got a real find there, box and the knife, least I think so. I would check in with someone here that knows about leaving that film on if you were thinking about that.

That's a truly wild find, NOS.

I've got a user specimen of the Scorpius. Stainless handles aren't my favorite so I don't own many, but this is one.
I don't know the actual timeline history of which were the first models designed by Eric, but this would probably be up there, maybe with the Dodo, just guessing...

Thanks, Jeb. I have since been carrying this Scorpius and have removed the plastic film by pulling on the tab. The film didn’t leave any effect on the brushed finish of the SS handle.

I am impressed by the amazing fit & finish of this old Seki made knife. It’s very difficult to make out the joints in the SS handles or the pivots/pins; almost like it’s machined out of a monolithic piece of steel.

I recall reading somewhere that the Scorpius was the first model designed by Eric. But discontinued after a few years of its introduction. The ergonomics is so good that it is an excellent candidate for a reissue in current lightweight handles.
