Magnacut Spydiechef

Now we know Taichung will be producing knives in Magnacut, a maggy ‘Chef would make perfect sense.

Anyone else with me?

For me I think it would come close to a grail.

I've always wished for a CQI update with the Ceramic ball lock interface as found on Chris Reeve Knives.
Make that happen and in Magnacut I'd buy 3

Would be cool to see MC versions of both the Spydiechef, and the Caribbean.

If the price doesn't significantly jump compared to the LC200N variant, then I might consider it.

It’s a $300 knife now. Hard to imagine it becoming more expensive than that.

it hasn't in the past. most their magnacut is barely above their s30v counterparts. they just dont really offer much of it.

Yes, those would be interesting upgrades.

I've wished for a XL Spydiechef in the past. The large Sebenza, or slightly larger, would be a good size to aim for IMO.

Magnacut vs LC200N below. Two very different knives (and price tags), but also surprisingly similar!

Love my Chef in LC200N. Magnacut will not be a reason to buy another one. XL version I find more interesting.

I’d get one. Provided that it isn’t astronomically more than the LC200N version

I'd love a Magnacut Spydiechef! I've been waiting and hoping for Spyderco to offer magnacut in a more premium package, I'm not a fan of FRN and I love titanium.

I just got a few new Spyderco's in, one being the SpydieChef with LC200N. My only complaint is the smaller size.
Make this 4" or longer and a better steel like Maxamet or Rex121 and this would be a have to have, and be in my pocket soon as I can get one.

I'm in the camp where i find the Chef to be just about the perfect size for EDC purposes. Why not make both? a Mag'cut OG Chef and an XL version. MY only hope is that if there's ever an XL version, they'd keep the ambidextrous clip. The Chef is one of those rare righty framelocks which is extremely lefty-friendly.

I’ve been wanting MagnaCut spydiechef ever since Spyderco announced they will use MagnaCut. The original size and dimensions are perfect no need for xl monstrosity.

I think for a folding chef knife an XL makes perfect sense.

If you view this as an edc knife I could see not wanting an XL, but how many chef knives do you see with less than 3.5" blades?

Obviously folding versions of filet knives, chef knives, machetes etc. have to make some compromises, but typical chef knives start at 8". To me 4.5-5" would be more ideal for a folding chef knife. If you've ever used an Opinel #12 you'll see the potential.
May you find peace in this life and the next.
