I picked one up. Nice knife.

Still prefer the old style, but this will work just fine.

Hope we see a blacked out MagnaCut Military 2 to go along with the Para2 and Para3.

Got mine yesterday. Everything is perfect.
Thanks for posting! Looks great! How is the comp lock on the M2? Can't wait to get mine.

I love the comp lock on it. I have a pm2 and I feel like I enjoy using the comp lock on the two M2s I own becuase the weight of the blade is a bit higher and it closes with a more substantial satisfaction. I'm a huge Native Chief fan, but I wanted the comp lock so I love my M2s

Honestly, I'm very surprised the M2 and PM2 don't cannibalize each other. They are practically the same.

they feel very different to me

Yes, they feel much different to me. My hands are between large and XL. PM2 feels just a tad bit too small for me, while M2 is perfection. Notice how my pinky rests on the PM2 handle, slightly awkward feeling; using the choil is a nice grip though.

Superb pic. The peel ply CF is such a nice, subtle class enhancement while still remaining functional.

It would be nice to see it used beyond just the rare S90V sprint; I could see them being sold just as grips by spyderco as an upgrade.

...

I received my CF M2, but will try and be good and save opening it until Christmas.

I’ve been so on the fence with this one. S90v doesn’t crazily turn me on (I’m more of a tool steel guy, as evidenced by my signature thingy) but I LOVE the 52100 millie and I LOVE the 2.

Chances are I’d really like this model but it’s just not quite a home run in EVERY department for me…which then becomes “do I want to spend that much money”, blah blah blah. I dunno man…this is a tough one for me…

insightful post. i haven't actually used a pm2 but by pics i assumed it was a negligible difference and main reason it was popular is because a compression mil didn't exist at the time.

i still think pm3 would win out for me(haven't used that either) since the size difference is a lot more distinct.definitely eyeing the blacked out magna coming out soonish. also since i have a mil2 and large hands i dont think pm2 would fill a niche for me.

Not sure about that.
Just looked at the closed /handle sizes and the jump in length here is more from PM2 to Millie 2 than from Para 3 to PM2...(absolutely, but also relatively seen).
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Yes the Military is quite a bit larger than the PM2. The PM2 is slightly too small for my hand too when gripped behind the choil. Not a big issue for light use EDC, but noticeable when I do a lot of cutting.

This CF and S90V combo was a no-brainer purchase for me. If I could get a good deal on a second one it would be hard to resist.

If your on the fence.....buy this one. It's a great looking knife. I've bought around 30 Spyderco's and it's my best to date. I'm debating buying another and making one a user.
don't do it, knives are for keeping next to your keyboard to fidget with not to use!!!

Not sure about that.

M2 Closed Length 5.51" (140mm)
Para 2 Closed Length 4.82" (122mm)
Para 3 Closed Length 4.29" (109mm)

Huh that really is interesting. P3 is 78%ish M2 handle, P2 is 87%ish but P3 has a significantly shorter blade at not much of a weight loss benefit. Still, the P3 blacked MC out looks like such a good sweaty pocket EDC. But then so does the Sage 5 Salt assuming I can do something about the high vis scales without jumping the price of it too high.

Just dropping by with some more pictures and a *thank you* to the Spyderco crew for putting out Sprints like this. This S90V CF M2 is my first time handling the model and I'm smitten. I've long thought glove size has a lot to do with how comfortable knives of a certain size are, and I feel like handling and enjoying this one the last few weeks has further supported that idea, at least for me. I'm a L/XL glove size and the PM2 has been my favorite model, ever since my very first one (S90V teal G10)... it just fits. The M2 feels like the older brother, with a little more comfort, a little more reach, and a little more belly in the blade. The M2, with this handsome and wildly stiff handle, the most solid compression lockup I've experienced, and the blade shape are just an outright compelling combination. Top it off with a decidedly stainless tool steel like S90V and it's hard to choose another daily carry right now. Bravo, spydie-folks!

It's been a very long time since I bought a duplicate backup. But when I saw this on sale for $261.66 at NationalKnives with no tax and free shipping, I didn't give my self any chance or time for second thoughts. After all these will be gone from the market within a few months at the most.

I’m impatient so I took mine apart, polished surfaces, KPL and tuned the spring. I could not wait for the beak in period to end😜😜😜😜 smooooooth as greased glass now. I just sped up the clock a month and a few thousand opening and closing cycles.

Mine has some lock stick but nothing crazy. What is the process for tuning the spring? I've never heard of this modification before.

I bend the compression lock back a bit to take some of the tension out. Mine had some lock stick but I think it’s working itself out and I think that may be partially due to the spring having less force. I’ve done this with a few of my compression locks and I like the way the action is more relaxed. Just a preference.
